Anyone ever had this combo? Think it was from 2 different ticks 2 weeks apart. One a deer and the other a lone star. Hard to tell which symptoms are which. Bad rib pain, although it is some better now. Is this from RMSF? Think I am fortunate I didn't end up in hospital. Borrelia miyamotoi was identified by Nieto Lab (free tick testing). RMSF by family doc, since it is common in NC. I am the one always preaching about protecting oneself from ticks then this. Just hard to believe. Have never seen so many ticks.

I have Bb, miyamotoi,Bart, not RMSF.
Dr H. has said miyamotoi may present with more severe symptoms.
After 3 years of untreated and misdiagnosised roadblocks, I now have major spinal cord and Neuro involvement.
I went from being the crazy lady with Lyme disease to now being the one to call when a tick bits you. At least once a week someone will call me distraught over what to do. Yesterday a friend called because he found an engorged tick on his dog.
I too have been bitten twice this year, within 3 weeks apart.
The tick explosion is very real and immeasurable.
We need government intervention.
The CDC cannot ignore this massive plague, that has spread to every state in the U.S. and every country on this planet.
IT IS THAT SERIOUS !

You are so right. Sadly, think many will be infected with various tick borne diseases this year. Maybe that will get someone's attention? Maybe not. I first became a lymenet member way back in 1999 because I suspected lyme. Took 2 more years to get help. I have been in remission for years due to aggressive treatment. But sadly, many are still not able to get help. So little has changed over the past 20 years. Very sad.

This year, here in Europe(Switzerland) we're having an invasion of ticks!!It's been awful! I got 6 bites in the last 2-3 months, and still catch them on my clothes /skin.
I'm glad we very hot days, and dry, so I could get a break (one week without finding a tick on me!!!).
If your government FINANCED production of some laboratory Bb, let them escape the lab to nature, I guess they must be happy with the tick spreading!?

Sent an email to CDC a few days ago about the b. myiatmotoi. Asked them why there was practically nothing about this strain on their website. Latest was posted in 2015 for a serious tick borne infection and no specific treatment instructions. Got a lame response. They are doing the same things on this as on other tick borne infections. -NOTHING

It is possible, even probable, that the local doc added RMSF in there just to protect herself from scrutiny from CDC, health department and insurers.
RMSF has a definite treatment protocol, last updated in 2016.
B. miyamotoi doesn't have one, and Lyme (b. burgdorferi) isn't in NC (we know it is, but officially the CDC/IDSA, etc. questions it).
So, wise doctors will always add RMSF to the mix because the CDC, Hopkins, Yale, etc all say to treat it if it is even suspected. Even with a negative test or no test.

RMSF test through labcorp was positive. Both igG anD IgM. The B. myiamotoi was identified through a tick test. Sadly, I had 2 different tick bites 2 weeks apart at 2 different locations. And sent both in to Nieto lab. RMSF bite was in NC. Lone star tick. The other in Nelson County, VA. Deer tick. I do have RMSF but may never know or sure re the other potential infection.
