So you all may remember how my daughter has had a 3 year struggle with Lyme. She was bitten back in 2010 and we did 2 months of abx with our LLMD. Then bitten again in 2012 and another 2 months.

Fast forward to 2015 and she started complaining of odd symptoms that would come and go. My alarm bells start going off. Then she got a classic Bulls-eye one day. She did 4 months of ABX with our LLMD and was fine.

Then April 2016 it came back and she tested CDC positive for Lyme on Igenex. Did another 4 months of abx and went gluten free. SHe was also fine. Even better, other than when she has gluten now she vomits. So it appears she now has a wheat / gluten allergy.

All was fine until this spring when, again, her symptoms returned in late April.

LLMD did testing. Lyme Igenex test is no longer positive, but she does still have several positive, specific bands.

She tested positive for Mycoplasma Pneumonia which we are treating with minocycline.

But most importantly, she tested positive on her IgG for Bartonella from Specialty Labs (now Quest) in California. Her Titers were a very high 1:256 on IgG.

LLMD even repeated the test last month to verify and the second one also came back positive on IgG with a titer of 1:256

She is on different drugs this year to target Bart and Myco and her response to this year's treatment has not been as rapid or positive. For the first time she is herxing. It is tough.

As of now she is on minocycline and omnicef and we are ramping up MC-Bar-1 drops which targets both Bart and Myco.

The MC-Bar-1 has been a rough ride. After 2 months, we were finally able to get her to 1 drop twice daily. But she is definitely herxing as we recently increased to two drops.

Now don't get me wrong...compared to some kids she is doing great. Most days she laughs, has fun, and can be mostly "normal." She mainly is dealing with recurring sore throats, occasional dizziness, intermittent red/hot ears, and some sleeplessness.

But when we increase the MC-Bar-1 she gets emotional, confused, malaise, etc. It's tough.

In the prior 2 years, she would do Ceftin and Omnicef and immediately feel better.

So this year is a rough ride. On one hand, I'm concerned and hope we can get through this. On the other hand, we always have suspected Bart and it is nice to finally have confirmation of this coinfection so we can target it. Perhaps this is why she hasn't been able to make a full recovery in prior years.

Either way, I'm glad we know. Stay tuned!

Lots on your plate and hers too! Wow! Sorry to hear of all the troubles you all are having.

Good though that you've gotten some answers so as you said you can better target what ails her.

Please do keep us informed and hopefully soon the herxing will be less and she and you all will be "normal" people once again!

I'm sorry to hear this but knowledge is power and now she should get better pretty quickly.

One of my children relapsed pretty badly this winter with Lyme and Bartonella and it was a quick turnaround with herbs only. Will be keeping him on them though for a very long time.

Wishing your daughter speedy healing!

Unsure what did you use for herbs to treat?
