What's the latest wisdom on magnesium? Yes supplement it because we are deficient? Or don't supplement because it feeds the bugs?

I think your question is a damn if you do, and damn if you don't.

I read Dr K. says not to supplement with magnesium.

But most LLMD's say to take.

My LLMD says to supplement 2 hours away from all other meds.

I survive on Epsom salt baths. It provides magnesium immediately. It s absorbed through skin so it doesn't interfere with other meds. Pain is gone within minutes. Love them !

Anyone know anything more about this?? I thought manganese fed the bugs, not magnesium??

I can remember being on this forum years ago, where every other post was stressing the importance of magnesium!!

I've been using magnesium citrate for years now (Natural Calm) and just recently read on facebook, in a bartonella group that Im in, that magnesium citrate is the worst form to take!!

This is so darn confusing............

There is, indeed, an agreement among most LLMDs:

if magnesium is deficient (as is very often true for those with lyme) it MUST be included in the nutrient support part of any protocol.

Absolutely. It is essential.

Whatever nutrients infectious microbes may be "feeding" on - you can bet that magnesium is not the only one -- and you can bet that if one element of their food source is withdrawn, they will "feed" on others - or our very body tissues / bones.

Get the food you need. Starving your body of key nutrients is just going to make things much worse all the way around.

There are other ways to address Bb or any other infectious microbe offenders. Don't go feeding them (or yourself) a diet of sugar, of course, but by all means, you must get the food you need. Magnesium deficiency can be fatal.

Get a RBC INTRAcellular test to determine your specific need for magnesium.

If deficient, address that.

Magnesium is needed for the ATP energy cycle in every cell as well as used in over 300 enzyme reactions. My vote is to take magnesium, but I am not a doctor and cannot tell you what to do.

Same here. I need it to help with leg and foot cramps, amongst other things. Magnesium is one nutrient that no-one wants to be without.
