Hello, I asked a question some hours ago on the medical questions forum and I think that a new one will be welcome on the general support forum.
My medical problems begun in 2011. After a 5 months medication with CRESTOR 5 mg, I was unable to run as good as I did before. As soon as the beginning of the run, I was very tied, I was short of breath and I did not understand. In october 2012 occurred my first vascular cerebral stroke. In march 2016, occurred an other vascular cerebral stroke, much more serious. Some months ago, a doctor said to me that I was infected by Lyme disease.
Do you think that Lyme bacterium is at the origin of my struggles ? Thanks for your answer.

Crestor is a statin drug. All statins have terrible effects on the body. They make people tired!

You must take a supplement called CoQ10 if you take any statin. That is because statins make the patient deficient in CoQ10. I would take 400 mg per day of the CoQ10. It is expensive.

Many, many people get muscle or body pains from all statins. These pains are terrible! My husband gets them all over his body with every statin that they have given him. He tried at least 4 of them. Now, he refuses to take any statins.

Look up the side effects of Crestor. Learn about this drug and decide whether you still want to take it.

How does the doctor know that you have lyme disease? Did you get a positive lyme test? or is it due to your symptoms that he believes you have lyme?

I have not heard of lyme causing strokes.

When I had lyme disease, I had very high cholesterol levels. My lyme doctor told me not to worry about it. He said that lyme causes this.

He said that once I got rid of lyme my cholesterol would return to normal. Sure enough. That is exactly what happened.

5 Great Reasons Why You Should Not Take Statins

By Dr. Mercola - February 10, 2016

Story at-a-glance

* There is evidence showing that statins may actually make your heart health worse and only appear effective due to statistical deception

* Statins deplete your body of CoQ10, inhibit synthesis of vitamin K2, and reduce the production of ketone bodies

* Statins increase your risk of serious diseases including cancer, diabetes, neurodegenerative diseases, musculoskeletal disorders and cataracts

Do Statins Age You Faster?—New Study

By ANH-USA - September 29, 2015

A recently published study in the American Journal of Physiology has shown that statins, anti-cholesterol drugs, are disrupting our stem cells.

Stem cells are undifferentiated cells that have the ability to create different kinds of cells (such as skin, muscle, or bone cells).

They are central to the body’s ability to heal itself and also seem to be involved in the body’s aging process.

Dr. Reza Izadpanah, a stem cell biologist at Tulane and the lead author of the study, was quoted as saying,

"Our study shows statins may speed up the aging process. People who use statins as a preventive medicine for heath should think again, as our research shows they may have general unwanted effects on the body which could include muscle pain, nerve problems, and joint problems [as well]."

Even after a only a few weeks on statins, many patients begin feeling years older.

Patients experience memory loss, muscle pain, diabetes, cataracts, liver dysfunction, diabetes, and fatigue. . . .

do red yeast rice, cholestoff, and others have the same side effect?

I took red yeast rice to lower my cholesterol. I do think the cause of mine increase in cholesterol was from Lyme.

After 3 to 4 months joint achiness especially in my shoulder joints became noticeable. After I stopped the red yeast rice the shoulder joint pain subsided even though overall achiness from the Lyme remained.

Note that the statin drug makers tried to get red yeast rice banned because it was a cheaper competitor.

All the Best, MattH

Lyme can cause "thick blood" called hypercoagulation. In other words, the lyme causes the blood to clot too easily.

I wonder if this could have caused your strokes?

The person who has this condition from lyme disease must take a certain medicine called heparin.

Other blood thinning medications will not work if the cause is lyme disease.
