Cefzil has greatly exacerbated my night sweats, air hunger, and nightmares. Ceftazidime did as well.

I think these are usually Babesia symptoms, but why would they be exacerbated woth cephalosporins??

I don't understand, and I just woke up trom a horrible nightmare. It's really scary not knowing what's happening to your body. I feel like death so badly.

I seem to be herxing a lot, lymph nodes are swelling too, which only happens when I take cephalosporins. I don't undatand it all.

Herxes increase nightmares for me.

That is why I used to live on binders, otherwise, I could not sleep at all.

Could be the drug itself that is inducing the nightmares.

Be sure you are not taking additional B6 .. It can cause nightmares too.

Nightmares are a new thing for me, and I really am herxing bad. Haven't changed anything I'm taking so I don't think it's a drug reaction. Maybe it's just herxing....

I think it's time to back off of my antibiotics and see what other binders I can add in.

Are you having only nightmares or night terrors?

Night terrors are even worse, as they seem to be still there when I opened my eyes!!

I have no doubt about binders helping me, concerning night terrors.

I used to have even day terrors (as I could have those freeky episodes even during the day), almost like hallucinations.

Since I promised myself to live on binders, they never ever came back again. Once you actually see how close you are to lose your mind, you sort of take some good decisions, I suppose!!

I swear these hallucinations never came back again, even though lyme was still active for years. Most of my symptoms were from toxins, were not lyme!!

Lymph nodes are swelling - sounds like you need some more detox support to get toxins out. Agree - back off the abx amount and add in binders and make it more doable.

I think they're nightmares Brussels, not entirely sure. It sounds like if it were a night terror I'd know it though.

I'm taking charcoal, I'm not sure what's other binders to take. I tried chlorella and my gut was NOT happy with me. I have cholestyramine but I've heard that can make you sicker at first, and sicker is the last thing I need!

Robin, definitely gonna back off the abx. I skipped dose and that helped. Just gotta find the right binders I suppose.

Maybe try bentonite clay?

Red root helps move the lymph fluid out. Tincture is best, but I've also found it useful brewed as a tea and then drank powder and all, just less potent than tincture for the amount used.

Buhner suggests that cleavers or poke can be used as substitutes. Have to use more a bit more cleavers than red root to be as effective.

Poke is colloquially considered poisonous. All parts are medicinal. The young spring leaves are boiled (usually 3 times) to be consumed as poke sallet.

I keep a couple bowls of poke berries in the freezer. Whenever we have lymph swelling or feel something coming on we swallow a few, usually 5 or 6. It grows abundantly as a noxious weed everywhere and is distinctively identifiable. Berries are in season now.

Poke has a single taproot that can grow to an enourmous size. Fall is the time to dig roots for tincturing. Can chop into small pieces and steep in grain alcohol. Tincture should be tried at just one drop at a time to assess tolerance.

What about MSM?

This was the best binder for babesia, for me.

I used a triple binder cocktail: MSM that I took in great amounts, plus chlorella (in amazing amounts too) plus bits of bear garlic tincture.

With that, I even looked like I was normal!!

[Big Grin]

Charcoal barely touched the herxes...

@Brussels Really?! I hate to hear that about charcoal, I was really hoping the charcoal would be more effective. It helps me a little but it definitely hasn't been a miracle or anything so far.

I used to use MSM, but I stopped when I got this stomach ulcer. I was taking 6 grams 1x daily. Is that a good dose? I may restart that. Wish I could do the chlorella, it just doesn't agree with me. Guess I need to read up on the bear garlic tincture.

@gz Red root is something I had forgotten about, I need to think about that one again... The poke berries are considered poisonous?? That sounds kinda scary.

@Robin Bentonite clay is a good idea. I think I could take it with charcoal?? I'll check that out too.

Thanks for the great ideas everyone (:

What about tiny amounts of cholestyramine? Maybe small amounts would help without increasing symptoms?

Y'all, I tried drinking only distilled water a couple of days ago for detox. I had a detox reaction to distilled stinkin water. Seriously?! At least I have a direction to head.

Cholestyramine looks much better than charcoal, in my opinion (more efficient, I mean).

Did you try chlorella VULGARIS instead of pyrenoidosa? It took me months to get used to chlorella, but I could only take vulgaris species, that is easier to digest.

I don't know what is the normal dose of MSM, as I test it energetically. I usually put 1 or 2 tea spoons on a glass of water and drink it.

People say that MSM is as safe as water, but I suspect it is not totally true as some people react to sulfur badly.

Bentonite is good but not strong, in my opinion.

Same as Diatomaceous earth: good, easy to take, but in my case, not strong enough.

It's good to keep rotating binders, so that they bind to different toxins.

What reaction did you have with distilled water? Like a herx?

I had no idea there were two types of chlorella. I'll have to look and see what I was taking. Thanks for that info!

The water gave me a very happy, peaceful feeling, followed several hours later by extreme weakness and fatigue. I'm having some trouble with my distiller, so I've gone back to regular water, and the additional weakness is gone again. Just felt like my body was flushing things out.

This is all excellent info, I really appreciate it Brussels. I think I'll start with distilled water, and then add from there.

Sam~

I'm sure you are aware that distilled water will leach the minerals from your body, right?

Posted by SickSam (Member # 45330) on :

Hi Phoiph! Yeah I've read that but there is a lot of conflicting information out there about it.

Some sources say only inorganic minerals that the body has discarded are leached, and others (like Dr. Mercola) say only use it for a short time for detox because it can cause early death!

My doctor has been drinking distilled water for many years and recommends his patients do the same. He said he's never seen a case of mineral deficiency from it.

So I guess I will try it for at least a short time for detox, since it seems like it will be effective. Beyond the short time I'm still unsure...

Yep, people don't know much about chlorella. I started with the pyrenoidosa but it was way too hard to digest that.

Then moved to vulgaris, and stayed on it for many months. It is easier to digest (it's still not a very easy supplement to take, but it is worth!).

Chlorella remains one of my favorite supplements, the one that I can't live without.

Now I take any chlorella. Any, really: with cell walls, without, another Russian species I forgot, pyrenoidosa... all of them feel good (they must be organic though as chlorella binds to heavy metals and other toxins...).

It's expensive, but I swear by it! Same as MSM, if your body can take that, it's a wonderful supplement.

The description of your intake of distilled water (relaxation followed by fatigue) looks like it is in fact pulling out toxins.

Same as my raw food diet: it feels relaxing, then I feel slowly toxic, my urine gets darker, some fatigue comes...

I suspect that ionized water will do an even stronger reaction than distilled water.

Distilled water: works by osmosis.
Ionized water: works like a magnet, pulling toxins off by attraction.

I'm using an ionic toothbrush and I swear that this reaches deep inside the gum!

I used to use some baking soda (that THEORETICALLY would also pull by attraction, due to higher pH), but it doesn't do anything to the gum flesh.

Anyway... nice we're always learning something!

The nice thing with chlorella and MSM is that you get the happy feeling, then it remains happy!! They bind to toxins, that's why.

Maybe you could take distilled water, be happy, then wait a while and take some binders to remain happy!!!!

Burbur helps with detox also.

So much great info here Brussels, and my severe brain fog is keeping me from properly responding. Time for more binders!

MSM will be high on my list of things to start again. It wasn't a miracle for me, but probably did help. Raw cabbage juice gave me a very similar reaction too, so seems like the raw stuff detoxes me as well. I'm either gonna try chlorella or cholestyramine too. I'm leaning towards chlorella, because I'd much rather something natural.

Thanks MannaMe, for your suggestion too!
