I need a new D3. it has to be gluten free, soy free and I'd prefer vegan.

Any suggestions on a good company? I was buying Metagenics but I need to swich. thanks

I started buying some supplements from this German company founded by young researchers.

http://www.sunday.de/d3-pur/vitamin-d3-oel-hochdosiert-5000-ie-x-250-tropfen.html

I do like their products, high quality, low price, they send you fast (but if you are in the US, it may take time...).

They have some good quality D3, in different combinations and concentrations... with K2 or without. I bought the strongest one, just one drop a week (but I may take 2x a week ...).

I like their magnesium too, their Vit C and MSM. They do not sell a lot of things, but the stuff they have are usually very good.

Try Thorne Vitamin D3 or Apex Energenics Liqua D. No taste and pure ingredients. Take it with a fatty meal or fatty snack for maximum absorption.

I don't think the Vit D drops have any flavor. I just add them to my morning cereal.

Does "MCT oil" mean coconut oil?

Posted by Abxnomore (Member # 18936) on :

Medium Chain Fatty acid. Coconut oil is a MCT.

I take the Sports Research brand of D3 5000iu in coconut oil. Gelcap is kosher gelatin and glycerin. They have it in 1000,2000, and 5000iu 360 gelcaps for $14 basically a year's worth, can't beat the price. I love their supplement line, all in coconut oil and no other fillers; I also take their biotin. I get them on Amazon.

Here you go. You can thank me later. This is the best brand around for supplements. Checks all of your boxes and doesnt have a lot of ingredients.

http://www.pureencapsulations.com/vitamin-d3-5-000-i-u.html

BTW You can get on Amazon easy and usually Prime (and a lot of sellers) so also fast.

ok well, I am not sure i have vit d poisoning.

I just had a new level and it went down to low normal. im so confused. how can anyone know what the heck to take or not to take?

Lisa .. Did you take Vit K2 along with it? That keeps the calcium out of your tissues.

What was your level when you started the Vit D?

K2 (best from MK-7) should always accompany D3 supplementation. "Over the top" as a number might not be too significant, it really depends on the amounts of cofactors present as to how the D3 synergizes in the body. Most people feel decent with D3 blood levels in the 50-70 range, sometimes higher. Others might feel their best with levels around 100.

D3 is rapidly used up in times of stress or illness. 5000 iu daily is considered a "maintenance" dose, so it can drop fast if we aren't getting enough.

Along with K2, magnesium and fish oil are important cofactors that should be taken in concert with D3. Vitamin A (small amounts are sufficient) can prevent hypercalcemia that is thought to be induced by too much D3, but that is probably much more indicative of a lack of K2, or sometimes boron (which is needed by the parathyroid).

I feel maintaining proper D3 levels is crucial, but especially so for those of us with TBD's and other immune system issues. D3 is near the top of the hormone cascade, if it is too low everything eventually crashes and it can affect every aspect of health.

My vitamin D level was a zero when they discovered it was low. A rhuematologist told me to take the 50,000 iu's a week forever, no matter what any other doc told me. Other docs have told me I didn't need that many. I have now for years. I can tell if my Vitamin D is low because when I have to pee, it's all of a sudden really urgent that I go. I make sure to take my 50,000 iu's that night and I'm good for another week. With Lyme, and all of its symptoms, I've found that by being really in tune with one's body will help guide you a lot. Just be hyper aware of how you feel and small symptoms can help tell you a lot.

my levels 1ith 30-100 ng/ml considered normal:

11/2015- 25
07/2016-44
11/20170-34

but then I also had a test through a different network and they said my result of 52 ng/ml was to high! :

08/2017 - I had a 52.8 in a range of 20-50.

so I do see now that they were the same measuring as ng/my, so why did one place say the reference range was so different from the other??

and the dr at the lower range said to cut back, so I did and now my 'regular' dr is saying its too low.

I was not ever taking a seperate K2. I don't think Ive heard of that before, but who knows.

my drs surely never mentioned it!
but i do see that it is in my new calcium pill- 80 mcg. so maybe that is helping. I haven't had any real terrible leg cramps since taking this, but I am getting strange throbby type in one leg .

not sure its related

Another note: my iridologist is telling me that ALL oil forms of suppliments are bad for us. so she said D is an oil and to not take- that also includes and fish oils or multi vit. etc.

how can I do that??
I am just fed up.
I am feeling terrible and nothing helps.

but I will take the new D pill (with the K2) and it also has 1,000IU of D so will that be enough?

but I really am stumped as to why one place says 20-50 D level is good and the other says to 100??

I have had a low vitamin D level, and don't pay much attention to it. I try to spend time outside.

When I took vitamin D my levels went lower, so I figure there was something going on that the doctors just haven't quit figured out yet. I don't take anything now.

Luckily, everyone is different.

I don't know why oil supplements would be bad (unless they have heavy metals).
