the only thing left is my Candida. How oh how to ride oneself of it? Do I have to have a perfect diet? I was making excellent progress then had some gelato - very small amount - and a glass of very good French champagne. This was New Year's celebration ski trip (is my excuse.)

IT'S BACK. Cheesh. For how long do I have to be perfect?

When I was following a noncandida diet, my candida doctor said if I was good for 6 days of the week, I could cheat a little on the 7th day, as long as I didn't fall off the wagon, so to speak.

And that seemed to work for me - it was fun to be able to have a little bit of the fun food once a week.

But reading what you have written here, maybe you can't at this point, as in too much candida load.

Mainly you need to be eating a diet that does not feed candida. And beyond that, we vary in whether we can handle meds that kill candida - I couldn't, so I just stuck with the food part, for at least 6 months.

Thanks Robin. Wow, 6 months! Yes, and it will be worth it to rid myself of them forever!

Since I fell of the wagon, I have been perfect, and it seems to have fixed itself. But it took a week!

Lesson learned. It's just not worth it. I take so many supplements that I am waiting to take my Nystatin Rx until after the supplement period, which is 5 more weeks.

You might need some candida-killing meds after you get the load down via noncandida diet. There are various kinds - you could work with someone medical on that. But go slow, because we still can herx.

I witnessed all the testimonies when I went to a candida group for 5 years in the Bay Area when I thought my problem was candida! Welcome to Lyme-being-everything-else syndrome!

I tried many anti-candida diets. Nothing worked.

Now I'm following Anthony William's suggestions. Eating loads of fruits, veggies some honey, banana, berries, but no milk, no gluten, no egg, no added chemicals.

Believe it or not (I would NOT believe it, because I avoided honey forever....), there's no sign of candida anymore.

I do think that cutting milk and gluten for me are a must. I did not know that fruits can go against candida.

Many will say it does not work, but I think the problem is gluten and milk products.

If you eat fruits, honey AND gluten AND milk, it may not work... He says milk and gluten feed the critters.

I cut most grains too (still eating rice, that I try to ferment before), eating though potatoes, all types, in great amounts. No problem at all.

I hope I found my diet, finally, after so many years of search. I love it, as it is quite tasty.

He does not impose anything: he only suggests foods that heal, and avoidance of certain foods.

He says to reduce the amount of fats down to 25% of what you eat, the rest, take veggies and fruits.

High fat will make the problem worse because it charges the liver. (his suggestion)
