Kind of strange to see a person wrapped up in saran wrap on the front page, is that even safe?

I read the reviews about this naturopath on Yelp, lot of unhappy patients.
https://www.yelp.com/biz/synergy-wellness-clinic-and-rejuvenation-spa-palm-desert

What bothers me are the outrageous claims these naturopaths make and the ridiculous prices they charge! You can buy the same supplements 4x-8x less on any internet health store, then they try to force you to take their supplements.

Also kind of unprofessional to see a Doctor in a naturopathic office wreaking of smoke, just kind of hypocritical don't you think? A lot of patients were making these claims that Dr. Nelson smokes!

Osteopath/Naturopath I saw here in Romeo Michigan has a disclaimer in his office that he won't even take patients unless they're a non-smoker. And if they're wreaking of any perfumes or smoke they'll send you back out the door.

Worst experience of my life! "Dr."Nelson is a racist, hypocritical, scam artist

I went back yesterday to return the supps which cost me about or around $280. You are required to order supps through him as he does not keep most on hand. By doing this it forces people to pay him and then forces you to go through him to be refunded, which I would gather happens little or none at all based on my experience.

PLEASE READ before seeking treatment with Dr. Nelson. I probably would have never decided to write this (5 yrs since I treated w/him), however when I received a call from his office a few weeks ago pressuring me to come back, I have been disturbed, so I decided to pull up YELP today & see if he might be in "business trouble". Now the reason I am saying this is because of the issues as to why I "stopped" seeing him 5 plus years ago & told him (personally) to never contact me again.

I had a condition where I had a feeling of strangulation most of the time & had every GI test known to modern medicine plus a couple of visits to a local naturopath (and about $30k). I have been a strong believer in naturopathic medicine for 30 yrs (I am 61). When no one could figure out what it was & after 4 yrs of office visits & tests, I was referred to Dr. N. I don't want to write a book but after $5k in office visits, supplements, "his" tests & many long grueling trips to Palm Desert (live in San Diego) with zero progress, I confronted Dr. N via telephone. He promised me time & time again we were getting close and I told him I felt like an ATM machine!

Dr. Nelson talks a big game but is the rudest most disrespectful man I have ever met.. I can't believe his staff take his crap or his customers. It was so expensive too! over $3000 for a detox package, I can't believe that. Apparently I have what 4 other people in the waiting room have and the cure for it is this expensive detox package for candida... guess what.. not buying it. There is no way everyone in this waiting room has the same thing! I am saving my pocket book, I suggest you do the same.

I usually don't get suckered, but that Groupon that I saw really did it. I ended up paying $750 for some kind of wrap deal, a fat removal machine, and this other vibrating jiggle thing. Absolutely NO results! Frustrated. Very nice staff! The Dr. Smokes like a chimney.

I have some real reservations about that person / site / thoughts & methods above. His education is dubious. I have other concerns. One of which is:

Under his education, note that (HON) is an "honorary" degree. An (HON) after a name under some place that only sounds like a school is NOT the same as having earned a real ND degree from an accredited naturopathic university with a four-year residential program.

Always research their education, their affiliations. here's where I think one can best find a proper ND, and one who is also ILADS educated.

For those considering complementary support methods / or other avenues entirely:

http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php/topic/2/13964

How to find an ILADS-educated LL:

N.D. (Naturopathic Doctor);

L.Ac. (Acupuncturist);

D.Ay. (Doctor of Ayurvedic Medicine);

D.O.M. (Doctor of Oriental Medicine);

Herbal Safety considerations & reference books; etc.

BOOKS - Links to many articles and books by holistic-minded LL doctors of various degrees who all have this basic approach in common:

knowing which methods offer assertive & direct impact, which are only support and which are both. And when to use what, how to combine, & when to step back.

You can compare and contrast many approaches with links to articles, books, methods . . .
