Hi everybody haven't posted here in some time so I will summarize my wife's Lyme story.

She got bitten back in 2007 and was down with Lyme and a handful of coinfections. She did abx through an LLMD for several months and eventually could not tolerate the meds any more.

So she switched to Chinese medicine for several months and did see some improvements after which she switched to Buhner type herbs which eventually took her to recovery. The process to get over the worst of the illness took about 2 to 3 years.

She has been mostly ok but does suffer some symptoms from time to time - fatigue, periodic COPD type issues, as well as anxiety issues.

It's apparent that we cured the worst of the disease in the initial years of treatment but there is still something persisting at a low level.

I am thinking of starting her back on the Buhner protocol. Back in 2008 I was actually ordering bulk herbs and making her teas/decoctions every day. It was pretty intense with a lot of measuring, mixing, boiling every day.

I was looking for input from those of you doing herbal protocols. What protocols are you using? What herbs or brands do you use? Any improvements?

I would start with liposomal Vit C, before doing anything else.

After lyme went into remission, I was fine (well, compared to lyme, it was like paradise).

But my body took a toll with lyme. It was exhausted after so many years of fight. I was fed up of treatments.

I lost teeth, slowly lost weight (slowly but surely), got again some allergies, my joints started to suffer very low grade inflammation etc...

My energy went downwards slowly too.

About 3 years after lyme, I felt like previous to lyme disease, I think.

but then, slowly, I begin to feel like some chronic state... probably due to dying teeth, dead teeth, root canals...

All dead teeth are off, lyme did not come back, but candida never left me.

I'm having a great experience with liposomal Vit C now, that I think is the best thing that happened to me in at least, the last 5 years.

I did Buhner protocol during lyme, it did help me.

I'm super excited with this liposomal Vit C that I would recommend starting with it as a base, then adding other things on top.

Lipo C deals with low grade inflammation in amazing ways, fast, deep.

I don't have acute infections , so i can't talk about that, but by the literature (on IV Vit C), we know that IV Vit C is a miracle in case of many acute infections too.

Could it be persistent babesia? The breathing symptoms and fatigue make me think of that.

When my Lyme was gone, I used Fever Tree tonic water with natural, herbal quinine to take care of those two symptoms from babesia. You could also look for herbal quinine. It didn't seems to take much for me and I enjoy the taste of tonic water, so I just used it.

Also, how's her gut? When my gut wasn't healthy, I had histamine issues, which also cause the symptoms you are talking about. It wasn't necessarily allergic reactions, but problems processing histamine due to bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) in my gut.

As Brussels mentioned, I am a fan of of vitamin C. I do not do well with ascorbic acid at all. I take fruit sourced vitamin C with no added ascorbic acid. It's good for many things.

People are also taking CBD oil with good results for many issues.

I did get over babesia using the Buhner protocol for it. Worse than lyme. Two 5-month rounds of mepron only made things worse. I believe I'm over lyme as well for about a year but still recovering from years of illness. There are no definitive tests to tell you that you no longer have lyme that I'm aware of.

I did the Buhner protocol for lyme, making the tinctures myself with 190 proof alcohol and organic everything. It was work and I have posted how I did it earlier.

I am feeling better. Several nights ago I was laying in bed. There was a feeling I was having and I could not identify it. It took a few minutes but I realized I was feeling happy. I'd forgotten what it felt like.

Brussels: sounds interesting I will look into liposomal Vit C

sixgoofy/lymenotlite: I also suspect that babsesia is still lingering and might be the main problem. She had a positive babs test years ago and did mepron+zith for a while but I feel it did not eradicate it.
Currently looking into adding some Cryptolepis into her Buhner protocol.

Plan to do the Buhner protocol disciplined for 12 months and see what happens.
