New Jersey isn't alone! LOOK OUT VIRGINIA!

The Nasty Asian Ticks Are Coming After You!

Found on a farm in Albermarle County...

Albermarle County covers parts of the southern section of Shenandoah National Park (approx. 15,000 acres of the park) and goes across the mountains towards Waynesboro on the west side...

North almost to Ruckersville & Gordonsville...

South to John Boy Walton's home of Schyler...

And East (straddling I-64) toward Lake Monticello.

Charlottesville, VA is just about dead-center in the county.

I'm west on I-64, next state over. Here we go!

Powers that be have no idea how to protect their people. I bet someone will develop a vaccine for that.

OMG!

[lol]

You make me laugh Map!

But, you are very right! It is pitiful!!

Here is some hope for the near future. It's a new bill that includes everything except for the kitchen sink. If passed (as is) it would be VERY good for us.

Along with better diagnosing and treating people, we have to get a handle on the tick population.

I am sure that "great minds" can figure out how to greatly reduce the tick population without harming the environment and other forms of life.

Check these ticks to see if they have been weaponized. Bb now has a brain swelling virus with 10% fatality rate. This is totally out of control and the CDC is asleep at the switch.

I contracted Borrelia miyamotoi a year ago in central VA near the intersection of the Tye and James Rivers. Rough illness. Scary to think there are other illnesses moving in to such a beautiful area. I could not bring myself to go on our annual camping/kayaking trip this year. I seem to have body chemistry that attracts ticks and still get attachments no matter what I do. Sad.
