I need help. I woke up five days ago with severe itching of my hands, especially the palms and also between the fingers. Does anyone know why this would happen out of the blue and what can I take to stop this terrible itching. Nothing is helping and its driving me nuts. thanks for any suggestions.

I have no clue why your hands itch. Sorry!

I am offering this link in the event it might be of interest.

Also, because Bartonella is known to affect bottoms of feet and hands too.

QUOTE- "Patient suddenly began experiencing very itchy, burning, extremely painful palms (both hands) with painful sensations extending intermittently into a few fingers on both hands. "

thank you. I took some children's benedryl this morning and now I feel so hyper and so anxious. Feel like I am jumping out of my skin which is so strange since I believe benedryl usually makes you sedate, not more anxious. Hands are still very itchy and my doctor is on vacation.

Might be from the Ababs.

You said in a recent post that on the 15th you took an epsom salts bath and that you had some severe skin irritation from that.

Even if you awoke with the hand issue a day prior to the bath episode, it certainly could have caused it to be worse.

When I had this problem, it took my skin at least a couple weeks to heal from that itching and tenderness from the chemical burn of the epsom salts (to your skin for whatever reasons) &/or the drying out of the skin tissue.

You might have to be even more careful now with the kinds of lotions that you use. Aloe might be of some help.

I had no itching problems at all prior to this bath on the 15th, however, I am still itching like crazy. I have taken these baths before and never had a problem with the Epson salt but this time I used Epson salt/essential oil liquid, different than the plain Epson salt. I used this liquid twice and never had an issue. I am going nuts with this itching. It has not stopped in six days. thanks for the posts.
