Hope I spelled that right but my llmd told me this week to take 800 mg. of this daily. Is this too much to start off with because I just took two 400 capsules.

I would space them out.

Glycinate is good but can add oxalates to your system. Bad for some of us.

Well I found out this morning that 800 mg is way too much for me because I cannot get off the toilet this morning. The bottle clearly says one 400mg daily but llmd said to take two. I will not do that again. Very painful cramping going on too. Ugh.

Try taking one in the morning and one in the evening. Magnesium is one of those things your body can only use so much of at one time.

We need it, but in smaller amounts throughout the day.

Magnesium helps your muscles relax, also there are lots of other things it helps to do.

Mag glycinate really helps me. I buy the Metagenics brand which comes in 100 mg tablets and you can easily split them.

I take one in the morning, 1/2 tablet at lunch time and 1 1/2 tablets at bedtime.

Try to take magnesium away from other supplements as it prevents others from being absorbed (like calcium and zinc)

Yes, to the above comments. You have to space them out and take what YOUR body needs.
