My llmd did igenex testing and I am hoping the results will be in next week. How long does it usually take to get them back?

Do they tell you if you are positive, how long you have had it? I know there are igg and igm's but not sure what they mean?

Also what is a pcr test because she did that too and also the CD 57 through another lab. what does all this mean to me?

So sick and need answers. Suffering for almost 20 months.

thanks for any help.

I'm glad she finally did the testing. It will take at LEAST two weeks to come back. You MIGHT get the CD57 more quickly than that. I really don't know.

The CD57 will help confirm the Lyme (sort of). If it is low, that adds in to the fact that your immune system has taken a big hit and could indicate Lyme. However, some patients with Lyme have high or normal readings on the CD57.

The PCR test is golden IF it comes back positive. If it's negative, you could still have Lyme.

Here is the explanation on the Western Blot. Read especially the parts in bold print:

Did she suggest any more treatment for now??

The results take a couple of weeks to come back and your LLMD will explain them

i looked up my cd57 and it looked normal. I have my sed rate checked today for the RA and it has doubled in numbers since starting the plaquinal, but I am only on 200 mg once a day. probably not enough. My fingers feet and knees are all swollen and hurt so much. I believe this is all caused by lyme, what do you think? I am on no treatment at the moment and suffering terribly. I have one more week to go until I see her to go over these results. I pray I make it until then, feel like I'm going crazy with panic attacks, off balance stuff, its just horrible.

Hang in there! Your Dr will explain what course of action you need to take.

Until then just listen to your body and rest if need be..

We're all different in what we respond to - my joints and muscles are responding well to a simple remedy - I take capsules of turmeric powder in the am and pm and that reduces all the pain!

We never know if something's going to work until we try it.
