I've been having a lot of migraines over the past few months and they last for many hours at a time and also make me feel nauseous. Do you have any recommendations for things that help?

Have you been detoxing? My go to is alka seltzer gold with lemon. Its really hard to do anything for a migraine once its been going on for over 30 minutes. They key is to catch it early. The minute you feel one coming on take ibuprofen (800mg does it for me) and start drinking lots of water.

I would stop totally for at least a week - the detox supplement -and see if the migraines improve. Just stop anything you take as a supplement now to see if eliminating will help.

If they do, there are likely other things you can do for support that are kinder in the process - or just work better for you.

Right now, taking just GINGER capsules might be a far better approach for support in many ways.

A cup of ginger tea - from your spice jar - if you do not have any ginger tea bags or ginger capsules.

The capsules are best since they are a therapeutic strength - to keep up a certain dose on a consistent time table.

Are you getting enough food?

Water (not too much at any one time yet enough throughout day)

Sea Salt, Electroylytes: getting right amount?

A soft blue ice pack to your head when you lie down in a quiet and dark room? Not too hard or too cold of one, though, one of those pliable ones with a fabric cover are good - and add your own lightweight cloth to keep it clean from your skin.

My routine when migraines strike:
1. Try a cup of coffee the minute you feel it start.
2. If it doesn't work within 30 minutes, take one Fiorocet. I got those from my LLMD. They really help
3. Stay hydrated. Electrolytes are helpful.
4. Lie down in dimly lit room with small pillow supporting your neck and other pillows keeping your head up a bit. You can use an ice pack wrapped in flannel on your neck.
5. Use an eye pillow resting on your eyes. I made mine from flax seed, lavender inside a 10x3" satin bag. It's cool and very relaxing. I use mine every night to help me get to sleep. I think it keeps my eye lids closed and not fluttering.
6. Use a white noise generator, one that has many sounds options. I use an app tied into my Echo. It drowns out household noises and helps me relax. I like it so much that I keep it going all day and night sometimes.
I sure am sympathetic. Migraines are miserable! Hope this is helpful! :-)

My headaches are caused from bartonella. Imetrex knocks them out but so does taking Bactrim.

There is a treatment you can get - google "My Chronic Migraine". The doctor sprays a lanocaine-like block up your nose onto a ganglion of nerves. This stops the headaches for months. It has been done since the early 1900's and has no side effects.

Here is a site that explains how it works.

https://headaches.org/2015/03/25/lidocaine-may-bring-headache-relief/

I got it twice and it was very effective to reduce the frequency and severity, for a couple of months.

If I avoid eggs, I rarely get a migraine. This has been true for me for 30 years, and odd as it seems, I have known of others who have to avoid eggs for that reason.

Very cool, neffer!

Oh boy.. I just recently got eggs back into my diet. I have had more headaches too. Sigh.

Avoiding eggs is a real bummer.

I tried denial a few times, but there's just no arguing with it. [Eek!]
