Not sure if there’s a medical term for this, but is anyone here EXTREMELY SENSITIVE to Lyme treatment meds and/or supplements? I’m talking about beyond a normal herx....
Thanks

Welcome!

You may want to look through the info in this link on Mast Cell Activation Syndrome.

yep. And as Lymetoo is pointing out, I think it is allergies. This stuff screws up our immune systems, and candida yeast can play a big part having these reactions.

Yes here. It's possible you could be a difficult detoxer. I did two genetic tests that showed I was either too fast, too slow or had no ability to process in various liver enzyme pathways. I have a doctor who can interpret results and make appropriate supplement recommendations.

One test was done through the Great Smokies lab. It was a detoxigenomic test and that's the one that caught processing cycles that were too fast or too slow.

The other test is through 23andme.com, with results sent to GeneticGenie.org for interpretation.

It's a methylation profile and its enzyme results fill two page columns. Each enzyme entry shows whether we're ++, meaning both parents passed us a good enzyme; +-, meaning one did and the other didn't;

and --, meaning neither parent passed us a good enzyme and that's why we're deficient in being able to process at that methylation point. It's actually quite common to have deficiencies.

You can look at a methylation map online - it's a picture of 4 interlocking cycles. When there's a genetic deficiency, we try to boost at that place. This is not guess work - this means testing.

We who are sensitive know immediately whether we can handle something or not, but we don't know why until we see test results.

Because I'm sensitive, I always take the smallest bit of anything to see whether I'll react or not, and if not, go up slowly.

hi quester,
yes, i'm super sensitive.

currently, i'm reading this: TOXIC, Heal Your Body from Mold Toxicity, Lyme Disease, ... (more)
by Neil Nathan, MD.

It's an eye opener about sensitivities, their causes, their treatments. I feel like there's hope for treatment now. Highly recommend this book.

disclaimer: I have zero connections with the book or its author, publisher, etc.

I was until I found EM. It has been so much safer for me to heal with energy. EM helps with so many things, it's amazing. I used to have issues with EMFs, now gone. I used to have a messed up gut, now gone. I rarely take probiotics (nice savings there).

I used to have heavy metals, gone. I used to have crazy allergies, now gone. I used to have lyme, it's gone. I'm so glad I walked through that door to try it, stick with it and discover all it does.
