Good morning, I've been in treatment now for about 7 or 8 months. I am doing a rigorous sea salt water protocol now since the oral antibiotics didnt touch anything. Been doing the sea salt since early December.

I'd say around November I had a prominent rash on my abdomen that has now spread to my leg and arm. My regular PCP and LLMD confirmed they were lyme bulls eye rashes...is this normal and part of the healing process?

My friend thought this was very encouraging ( he submitted a post about it yesterday) we believe that the lyme is exiting my body due to the salt protocol. Ive probably had lyme now 20+ years, and like many ppl I never noticed a bullseye, ironic

As you can see through others posters, many people have got EM rashes during treatment (and also without treatment).

If during treatment, my guess would be it's working, and Bb is trying to get a hang on your body, and the last place it found is the outer skin (few lymphocytes, bad circulation etc).

That's how I understand why an EM rash forms: it spreads under the outer layers of the skin, because there, our immune system works less well than in deeper layers.

Of course, you gotta see if you feel better generally, to see if it's actually improvement, and not only lyme business as usual, spreading slowly in the body...

Just a word of caution with the salt-C protocol: watch your blood pressure.

No matter what they say (that salt will NOT increase blood pressure), you can see here in lymenet or in other lyme forums: many people stop salt-C due to hypertension being caused by salt excess.

I had that problem, Scott (betterehealthguy) too, and many dr K's patients too. I see this protocol maybe just like a short term therapy, but not as a definitive gun against chronic lyme.

Plus, sea salt or any good salts are also heavy on the liver, which is one of the weakest organs for those suffering from chronic lyme.

You can search the internet, I'll just post this article here:
Salt can cause liver damage

Thank you! I am currently watching my BP closely, yes. I take breaks with it as well.

And no I have seen zero improvement, feeling alot worse as the days are going by. However, we are encouraged by this thinking it's a horrible herx and the lyme is getting killed.
