Corona virus treatment. I have an analysis of how corona viruses infect tissues, what tissues they infect, and the herbs that are useful to interrupt that process, as well as the herbs useful to shut down the cytokine cascade they create on pages 52-55 of Herbal Antivirals (Kindle location 911 - 975). It is useful reading in that it can inform treatment from a knowledgeable place (there are also some suggestions, not often used by medical professionals, for specific pharmaceuticals that have been found to be useful).

(Buhner has a section specifically on Coronaviruses. I have his Kindle book on Herbal Antivirals because it is easy to do searches on it. Some Kindle books don’t allow for page searches but you can use location searches. Go to -> Location and type in location number.

So the Coronaviruses section is at Location 943 and his SARS protocol is at Location 998.)

Here is a sample protocol. Please note it is rather more extensive than the ones i normally suggest, this is because the particular corona virus that is now spreading world wide is exceptionally potent in its impacts. Again, this is only a suggested protocol, but all the herbs are specific in one way or another for this virus.

A number of the herbs are strongly antiviral for corona viruses. In general, I would only begin using these formulations IF there is good reason to believe that the virus is entering your area. The formulations are preventative as well as specific for acute infections, the only alteration is the dosage. Three tincture formulations and one tea.

Core tincture formulation: Baikal skullcap (3 parts), japanese knotweed root (2 parts), kudzu (2 parts), licorice (1 part), decocted elder leaf tincture (1 part). Note, the berry will do i guess but it is about 1/3 as effective as the decocted leaf (which no one sells, you have to make it yourself). Dosage: 1 tsp 3x day, 6x if active infection. Note that Baikal skullcap is also called Chinese skullcap and Scutellaria biacalensis.

Immune system, cellular protection, cytokine interruption tincture formulation, supportive for core tincture activity: Cordyceps (3 parts), Dong Quai (2 parts), rhodiola (1 part), astragalus (1 part). Dosage: same as above.

Cellular protection, cytokine interruption, spleen/lymph support tincture formulation: Dan Shen (3 parts), red root (2 parts), cinnamon (1 part). same dosage as above.

With active infection: very strong boneset tea, to 6x day.

I have used this with other corona virus infections, including SARS, it works well.

Correct me if I'm wrong but SARS and Coronavirus are different.

From Buhner's Herbal Antivirals:

SARS is, in its impacts in the body, very similar to acute influenza and at first was thought to be an emerging influenzal strain. However, SARS (sudden acute respiratory syndrome) is a new, emerging viral pathogen that appeared suddenly in 2002 in China.

The disease is characterized by fever followed by respiratory symptoms and, ultimately for some of those infected, progressive respiratory failure. The nature of the virus, at the time, was unknown but eventually it was found to be a coronavirus that had jumped species. Into us.

It's early days for research on coronavirus but of course this will likely be hardest on the elderly, the young, and the already ill. Here is a recap from (18:30):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lZAMQ8kpjk

The points are:
1. Human to human transmission confirmed.

2. Capable of infecting and spreading virus before symptoms appear.

3. Can still carry the virus and still be capable of infecting and spreading the coronavirus after symptoms have subsided and the patient has recovered.

4. Based on a small sampling (only 5 people) the incubation period is from 4-6 days, whereas previously reported it can be from 12-14 days.

5. The length of symptomatic period is from 3-5 days.

Some people like Oscillococcinum by Boiron for flu-like symptoms and if needed I will be using that as well as the Buhner herbs.

Are these herbs available ready to consume? It looks overwhelming to gather them all together, but maybe that's just me.

CV1, CV2, CV3 are the exact herbs Buhner mentions for Corona (CV = corona virus).
This is in the UK.

Coronavirus effects the lungs and lyme can and did also for me. Here is Buhner on COPD:

https://www.stephenharrodbuhner.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/COPDprotocol.txt.pdf

And "Treatment of Chronic Inflammatory Lung Disease":
https://www.stephenharrodbuhner.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/COPDprotocol2.txt.pdf

I haven't had time to read either but wanted to make them available now.

Buhner posted this after he made his COPD protocol available:

Hi All, I have updated the COPD (chronic inflammatory lung disease) protocol today. There are a couple of major additions. The first is that an herb I have been waiting to come on the market is now on the market. It is mango leaf standardized to 60% mangiferin. If you are interested you can just go to google scholar and type in mangiferin to see its range of actions. It is a potent anti-inflammatory among other things. it also shuts down specific cytokine cascades. It is to lung inflammation what knotweed root is to Lyme inflammation.

There was only one supplier/manufacturer selling it on the market and I have not been impressed by them. So, I asked the people at Green Dragon Botanicals to begin carrying a better produced product under their brand. (I don't make anything from this.) It is finally available. I will post a link at the end of this post. I think that the standardized herb is likely good for Lyme as well as a number of inflammatory conditions. As well, the cost is about half the other product's.

Please note that some people market it as a caffeine alternative; I HAVE NOT FOUND THIS TO BE THE CASE FOR ME, but start slow and see how you go. It comes in 200 mg capsules. I use three in the morning and three in the afternoon for me. It does seem to be helping considerably over time.

I am still working on reliable interventions for chronic acute bronchitis; i have added something to the protocol that is helping a great deal. Not the final solution but much better than anything I have used so far.

The protocol update is at Stephenharrodbuhner.com under writings, articles.

Here is the link to the standardized mango leaf.

Herbal treatment for coronavirus infection
Regardless of whether you are cold, hot, deficient or excess, the coronavirus creates a condition has been determined by Chinese practitioners as one of damp-heat and toxins. How is this treated?

First and foremost, take antiviral herbs. There are plenty of them but the highly effective formula I recommend is Chuan Xin Lian comprised of andrographis, dandelion and isatis. This formula clears heat, expels toxic-heat and cools the blood. Planetary Herbals has this formula called, Echinacea-Goldenseal with Olive Leaf, which is Chuan Xin Lian with those three western herbs added. Echinacea is anti-toxin, goldenseal clears dampness and heat, and olive leaf is anti-viral. Another formula to take is Andrographis Respiratory wellness.

Secondly, take Gan Mao Ling, which is a much stronger antiviral than Yin Qiao. It also specifically treats head cold symptoms and fever.

In China they are giving Shuang Huang Lian, a combination of honeysuckle, Chinese skullcap and forsythia. Although sold out in China, you can make your own from the raw herbs:

• 22.5g honeysuckle flowers (Flos Lonicerae – jin yin hua)
• 22.5g Chinese skullcap root (Radix Scutellariae – huang qin)
• 4.5g forsythia fruit (Fructus Forsythiae – lian qiao)

Simmer the skullcap and forsythia covered for 20 minutes in 5 cups water. Turn off the heat, add the honeysuckle flowers and cover again. Let steep for 20 more minutes. Strain and drink 1 cup three or four times a day. If you can find it in capsules, take 5 3-4 times/day.

Finally, don’t be afraid of taking a dose every two waking hours. While herbs have the ability to kill bacteria and viruses their greatest strength lies in their ability to activate the body’s innate defenses to fight off these pathogens.

And it looks like we have another deadly leak from a bioweapons lab:

https://nypost.com/2020/02/22/dont-buy-chinas-story-the-coronavirus-may-have-leaked-from-a-lab/

I do not see how Covid-19 can be stopped and the obvious result would be a worldwide pandemic. This is a respiratory virus and the sickest would need to be ventilated. Hard to believe that our medical facilities could be prepared for that in large numbers.

Some recommendations to avoid being infected by the coronavirus are:

Avoid contact with the public as much as possible. This means stocking up on necessities beforehand. Some places deliver.

Purchase some N95 face masks now. Effected areas are running out of them or none are available already.

A nebulizer may be important. Buhner has more information on his preferences for COPD nebulizers as posted in above link. I'm not sure if the same preferences apply to the coronavirus (cup vs. mask) but I assume it would. I haven't had time to look further into that.

My friend who lives in the Bay Area said she called a local medical supply place to buy a nebulizer and they told her that she needed a prescription. That did not used to be the case. I have one that I bought locally probably 10 years ago and no Rx was needed.

I'll post more as the information appears. We are among the most vulnerable.

Another article by Buhner on the Coronavirus. Just put online today (3/1/2020). It's 19 pages so too long to include.

He says:
Hi all, I have written a more in depth article on the corona virus and what it does in the body and upgraded the protocol for treatment, plus answered a few of the common questions i have been getting.

Here is a link to the article (which is on my website: stephenharrodbuhner.com), please share as desired.

His article describes the action of Covid on body and the herbs to counteract it. He is now recommending the shuang huang lian formulation (available at Montana Farmacy) which has the ingredient Forsythia fruit that he had not previously recommended.

Guys, did you notice that covid hits every person differently, and everyone presents totally different symptoms? It's actually quite strange how this virus changed our lives. I was pretty depressed on this subject, but even yesterday, after reading https://talbotorm.livejournal.com/365.html, I understood that it is expected that the world with has an acceleration after this stepdown. I follow Neetish Sarda for some time, and I indeed believe his words and his visions upon this subject. It's very fascinating.
