Can someone share the dosing for artemesinin? My LLNP was having me do 3 days on 7 days off but I was concerned as I felt better on it than off. I contacted her and she said I could do one week on one week off. My dosage is 100mg 3 times a day. I am using it for vocal cord issues related to babesia. I tried antibiotics which made me have horrible GI issues and didn’t help at all.

there is good evidence that artemisinin concentrations drop v rapidly after the initial day or so of dosing as the rate the body excretes it rises sharply day on day.

so much so that after i think about 1 week the concentration in the blood is down to a small fraction of that on day 1.

for this reason its very hard to maintain effective blood concentrations long term.

for this reason - in malaria treatment (a similar class of parasite to babesia, and the one for which artemisinin was originally developed) high doses are usuaually given on day one or first 2-3 days - then tapered off.

i suspect this is why your practitioner is suggesting the pulsed approach he is.

i am not aware of any research documenting how long it takes for the bodies accelerated excretion response to return to baseline.
it could be days or it could be months.

respected herbalists such as stephen buhner do not recommend it for long term use for this reason. he doses not support pulsing with it instead he states that if it is going to work for you it will do so in the first 30 days or not at all.

i know its not what you would like to hear - but just passing on when i have read that seems relavant.

the only other thing i recall that may be of use is that he belives the above effect can be reduced somewhat by including some of the whole artemesia annua herb in the protocol that seems to slow down the excretion ate somewhat.

all from memory, i'm afraid but you will be able to find references for the above in his Lyme and babesia book and online

need to be careful with this...doctors supervision as some of these have toxic sidefects that could really hurt you, there are some that dont have
this side effect..again need doc to take this
