Hello, I was wondering if anyone has done VIP nasal

spray and if anyone experienced any side effects. I

am doing it as part of Dr. Shoemaker's mold illness

protocol. I tried the spray but I think it is giving

me headaches...although could be other factors. I'm

wondering if anyone has any experience with this.

Thanks!

You might try doing a search here. I remember it being discussed.

Thanks, yes I've looked through some old posts but can't seem to find anything about side effects.

i read some of Richie Shoemakers work - he did discuss different nose sprays and some people getting herx like reactions including headache from any of them containing bactericidal agents. if I recall in those cases he generally prescribed nasal sprays with biofilm disrupting agents only.
people with this cluster of illnesses/symptoms are often sensitive to many things and headaches are one of the most common reactions in those that are sensitive.
it could be worth persevering - if you can tolerate it
or it could be worth looking into Mast Cell Activation Syndrome which often accompanies these illnesses - and can be one of the mechanisms by which these reactions are produced - esp in people who display food sensitivities etc

You might look at this thread. I will be probably be using oregano juice and/or oil for sinus stuff later on.

I've had swelling on the side of my head for years as well as sinus problems and a perpetually swollen lymph gland under the same side jaw.

A naturopath prescribed a product called Biocidin Broad Spectrum Liquid Formula by Bio-Botanical Research. It is 1 ounce bottle with a dropper and blue label.

I used it as recommended in a nebulizer. Most adults for this purpose breathe in by the nebulizer mouthpiece and out through the nose. I had a child's mask that fit me so I could breathe both in and out through the nose. You start with one drop and increase until you hit an effective amount. I'm using three drops.

The swelling is way down after a couple of weeks of doing this daily or every other day. Previously I had used essential oils applied to the swelling area but no comparative results.

I also got some sun most days and made sure the sun hit where the swelling was. My sinuses are very improved but I have a somewhat sore spot on the septum and that has been there a long time.

I do not know about this at all- the brand you mention here,

BUT I use a nasal spray that is simply amazing and works really well.

any time I get a mold hit I spray it up there and it immediately helps.

it is called

ION SCIENCE

I spray one shot up each nostril and then I don 't even notice it after that. I don't feel that annoying drip in my sinuses either. im not sure how it works but it is superlative.

Perfect timing LisaK

It's my most dreaded time, ALWAYS get so sick come September. Came early this year, been sick with sinus headache for 1 week. Horrible.

Will definitely try ION SCIENCE.
Thanks.

My practitioner uses a combination of Quicksilver Liposomal Glutaione (4 pumps 2X day, built up to gradually), and GI Detox (started once full-dose Glutatione has been reached) to deal with the mycotoxin die-off in the sinuses,
and a combination of 5 ml of 25 ppm colloidal silver, held for 5-10 minutes for each side of the sinuses, with 6 drops Biocidin in a 2 ml bottle of the silver; the Biocidin is built up to one drop at a time, gradually.

My pracitioner believes mycotoxins in the sinuses can hold your immune system hostage, and says I have them. Is he right? I don't know. He's a smart guy, but like every other doc, he makes mistakes.

His protocol, though, seems effective, both in terms of killing the mycotoxins in the sinuses and getting rid of the die-off.

I've heard that the VIP is really rough stuff.

I use Nasalcrom because it helps the mast cells stay calm.

From my Toxic Mold Summit notes by Ray L. Solano:
Shoemaker brought to light VIP or Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide. He would use that at the end of his protocol to clear brain fog. The body has receptors for VIP all throughout the body. We see them a lot in the lungs, in endothelial tissues, in the brain and many other organs. It’s not really an intestinal peptide. It’s available as a drug in Europe for pulmonary hypertension. Blood sugar dysfunctions, insomnia, a huge intolerance to viruses and infections.

When we bring in VIP through a nasal route, we do get absorption very quickly through the capillaries in the nose to raise those VIP levels back to normal. So with so many problems, functions can be shut down and VIP opens them up. When you have low VIP levels it seems like nothing works. But it’s important go get rid of the infection before doing VIP. VIP helps to clear some of the brain fog, some of the fatigue issues. Can’t be living in a moldy environment.

The dose has to be titrated to the individual. Too much can make them more tired. May need to walk it up over weeks or months. Availability may be questionable.
