Anyone using this? What dose? Your experience?

I took first time last night and it was scary and
did not put me to sleep.

I was on it years ago. I got about 3 hours sleep the first night, and felt like I had gotten my mind back. I could think for the first time in years.

The first doses are to make sure you will do well with it. Each person has an optimum dose that they would stay with.

I needed to stay asleep after the doses wore off to get dream sleep. I forget what my doctor had me on, but it was helpful. I'm sure it was a sleep med or something sedating. When it wears off, xyrem has an alerting effect.

Once I took a dose and then needed to stay awake and I could.

An alarm went off one time and I woke up quicker and was more alert than my husband. I did have to be careful when I got up to check out the alarm, because I wasn't in total control physically. I lurched.

It's the king of all sleep meds--the mix of chemicals in your brain when you are in a deep sleep. The brain processes it and the end products are carbon dioxide and water.

I was on it for a few years, and then it started to not work so well. When I went off it, my sleep wake cycle stayed good and has for many years.

Be sure and have a very empty stomach. I think that's dangerous for people with normal sleep ability. Sometimes they would get the munchies, but then pass out after they eat.

Don't take more than the 2 doses at night. It's addictive but if you go all day without it, you won't even notice that.

So, respect it, and there's no need to be afraid of it. It can make a major improvement in healing. I hope you do well with it.

Ambien doesn't work for you?

I took it for 2 nights and then said this should never be allowed to be prescribed!

I was sweating, dizzy, swear things were happening that weren't. Horrible dreams when I finally slept. Had a headache for days afterwards. Never reacted so bad to medication. I'd rather stick with ambien and sex once a year that I'm not fully awake for.

I did the same dose last night and had less of the weird side effects. I did eventually fall asleep but but woke up coughing from a tickle in my throat.

I've been on ambien for years and it's not working as well now. I need REM sleep.

Do I remember you're on ambien lymetoo? Could you PM me?

Hi Marz
Have you tried the extended relief form of Ambien? It's been incredibly helpful for helping me stay asleep.
