Researcher Dr Zhang from John Hopskins published his findings on the antimicrobial effects of 12 herbal extracts againest Lyme (Bb).
This paper includes slides of the kill activity through fluorescence microscopy of each herb.
These studies were done In Vitro (outside of a living organism) and not In Vio. (inside of a living organism) which means it's not proven in the human body.
Little to No Activity; Stevia Andrographis Grape Seed extract Colloidal Silver Monolaurin
Most of the herbs were purchased through KW Botanical in California and Heron Botanicals in Washington State. Unfortunately these companies only supple through Practtioners.
yep - some interesting studies coming out of this group.
these herbs were found to be directly antimicrobial for BB in vitro - but the next part f the story is whether it's possible to get to these concentrations in real people and get the desired outcome. or if some chemical distribution, metabolism, or tolerability issue arises.
the other area that warrants more research is that favored by people like Stephen Buhner - which is not so much a direct anti-microbial action, but modulating the immune system to do what it is designed to do and eradicate the BB organism for itself. That is much harder to test for in vitro but holds a great deal of promise.
