Hey everyone. I've been on Macrobid now almost 5 months for the Bartonella. I noticed my herxing intensifying in the 4th week (usually middle of the month) then some relief.
My facial acne has intensified. I've never seen it this bad in the last 2 years. Was told that very much can be from herxing.
For 3 weeks now I've had intense fatigue, more body aches including 2 migraines. The exhaustion is almost debilitating with some dizziness, brain fog, some ST memory loss, some confusion..this isn't good for my job. Its not letting up.
Its frustrating and worrisome. I hate this. I started the new job 2 months ago which I absolutely love! It's such a great distraction and my boss and coworkers are awesome ( they do not know I'm sick).
I have been detoxing, charcoal pills, gluthane ( spelling) lots of water alka seltzer gold, and holding back off on my abx. I don't know if its worth a call to my LLMD or wait?
Is this a GOOD THING?

Congrats on new job. Please don't over do it though. Working while in treatment is very difficult, many are unable. Rest when possible.
I take NAC, ALA, and Glutathione. Sometimes it becomes over stimulating so I lay off for a few days.
Does your LLMD offer IV Glutathione? Might be helpful. Touch base with LLMD. That's why we pay the big bucks. Hope you find relief.

You could also try lemon water!

So when you think of having an infection then you would say it's reasonable to use something to kill the infection like an antibiotic. Simple right?
And most infections that could give you some satisfactory result. That is also the philosophy that doctors use for bartonella.
What they don't understand is that Bartonella brings something else to the party.
Bartonella shuts off a persons immune system genetically.

What that above sciency stuff means is that once you have a Bartonella infection then you are genetically modified . You are a GMO and there is no undoing that because your genome has been altered. Once you understand what is really going on then antibiotics don't apply at all.
The way to become healthy from a bartonella infection is by using Epigenetics.

So when I say that Bartonella shuts off your immune system genetically then there are caspase enzymes inside cells that cause a cell to kill itself when it is infected or has faulty DNA. That is programmed cell death or Apoptosis.

By interfering with apoptosis then Bartonella has host cells to live within.
There are other things Bart does in shutting off the immune system.
bart turns a person into a genetic disaster However there is a way around that called Epigenetics.
You can use Micro RNA to shut down the bad genetics that Bart infections give you.
Epigenetis is Post Transcriptional Gene regulation, means that Transcription takes place in the nucleus where DNA is transcribed to RNA. Affecting the messenger RNA after it leaves the nucleus is the target of Epigenetics.
I heven't seen any doctors at all understand what is going on with Bart and once you do then Antibiotics don't fit that problem at all.
To heal from a Bart infection you have to bboost your immune system AND take the brakes off of your immune system by cancelling the bad genetics that keeps it from working.
Using antibiotics for a Bartonella infection is like trying to bake a cake in the refridgerator , It just doesn't work that way.
