So my DD has been in treatment for reactivated babesia and bartonella over the last year. Over a long period of time, she said that she feels full after eating less and less food. In the last month, she has eaten even less and feels full even sooner than ever.
She doesn't appear to have lost a lot of weight. We will be going to an internist soon to rule out other causes (silent reflux, ovarian issues, etc.).
We have been mentioning the fullness feeling to the LLMD. Just wondering if it could be from any of the herbals or the infections themselves. (We have been rotating through the herbals so it hasn't been a continuous one this whole time.)

I have had this with Babesia and also small-fiber neuropathy.
It is good she will be checked for other possibilities though to be safe.

Yes, babesia can cause a loss of appetite.

May also be a side-effect of the treatment (herbs & antibiotics): altered gut flora, distortions of or loss of taste/smell, muscle fatigue (lack of exercise may affect gut motility)...

This was one of my initial symptoms when I was ill.
It is different than having a loss of appetite (although that can accompany the sensation), it is a constant fullness as if you have a large weight in your stomach, especially after drinking water.
I believe it has to do with Vagus nerve, which is often affected with Lyme and coinfections.

I just finished watching a presentation by Dr. Daniel Kinderlehrer on the PA Lyme Resource Facebook page, and he mentioned this. Sorry I don't remember details, but you may want to watch it. Very informative.
