As you can see from my previous posts about 3 months ago I was on Rifabutin (paired with Clarithromycin) and was only on it for a month and it wiped out my WBCs, platelets and raised my liver enzymes.
Around the time I came off it I noticed unexplained weight gain and significant hair loss. The hair loss is something I've never seen in my life, this is devastating. My cold intolerance is getting even worse. Where I live we are getting over a heatwave and still I couldn't take the a/c.
This all screams Hashimotos Disease or some other issue with my thyroid. You'd see another post I did recentently on here about hormones and Hashimotos.
Could it be possible ( timing is too coincidental) that the Rifabutin attacked my thyroid causing these issues? I had someone mention to me it can do a number on one's adrenals.
Something has to give at this point.

Get a good evaluation of the thyroid.

Yup, those symptoms sound like hypothyroid. A functional medicine doctor, or other holistic doctor would be better than an endocrinologist though.
My guess is more that the Lyme and company is what caused your blood numbers and thyroid to go haywire. Plus, the die-off can cause all kinds of problems.
I'm not giving medical advice about whether or not it was caused by Rifabutin outside of the above things---which can be huge.
Treatment can be full of ups and downs and challenges.

I don't have the $ to seek out a holistic/functional medicine doctor. I pay my llmd enough as it is.

My general practitioner takes care of my thyroid testing and treatment. Those people DO exist!
Ask around. Perhaps you could find one online even.

Will your lyme doctor take care of it? Mine does. The beauty of this is that he can't criticize the doctor for how they are treating me (I find that so annoying).
Besides that have found it really hard to find an endocrinologist that does thyroid - they all seem to do diabetes.
