After two years off antibiotics I tested positive for Lyme and Babesia again and have been on Zithromax and Alinia for about a week.

This AM, after a day of gardening yesterday, I discovered a tiny nymph tick embedded in my right inner arm. Knew it would be difficult, but tried to pull with tweezers. Almost the same location as my initial infecting bite in 1991!

Of course it is Saturday, and my local doc unavailable and really do not want to go to the ER, but do not want to have it stay there until Monday. Since I am loaded up with anti tick meds, what are the increased odds of getting more infected if waiting until Monday to have my own doc dig it out?

Have not had a tick attached in years, and am out of the loop as far as recent info as have been treated for many years, but only tested negative for multiple tests a couple of years ago, so LLMD let me take a break. Realize there is no firm answer, but really do not want to go to the ER. Thanks!

Are there urgent care or prompt care offices near you? Not an ER but you can go without an appointment.

Thanks. Did go to doc, although tick had fallen out. Used his microscopic eye piece to determine no parts left in. Of course I had photos, but he knows I know ticks well. High percentage of positive ticks here so he had me take two doxycycline. (thought that was not considered an effective action, but since already on Lyme and Babesia meds, I think I am ok.

Two doxy is really not enough care, so I hope you are on a decent amount of care already for Lyme!
