Anyone have reflux that gets into throat? My Dr scoped me and saud evidence of it w inflammation and swelling. As it seems a little harder to swallow things. Sometimes little bits get stuck.

The issue is I do not want to go on a ppi. Been there done that. Had been on for 6 yrs. It took me over a month to wean off. And my dumbass Dr, then, never told me you're only supposed to be on it for 1 mo tops. As it can cause a s load of problems. (prolly bc he's an md and is clueless Af, as usually are)

So I need to keep the stuff out of my espoogus until my fibroid has shrunk, which I'm working on with another Dr. My kinesiologist suggested baking soda daily, which I started yesterday. Any other things, natural things, that have worked on a temp basis?

over on healing well there is a member called astroman who is familiar with reflux and natural treatments

he swears by d-limonene as a natural way to coat and protect and thereby reduce the inflammation in the oesophagus allowing it to heal

he also advocates raising the head of the bed by 4-6inches to help keep the acid in the stomach while you sleep - as it can tend to creep up again at night

maybe pop over and ask the question - he is a regular there

Baking soda daily can also be problematic. Look it up.

For my nephew, they gave him aloe vera juice and coconut water to help soothe his esophagus.

There are many ways to approach this and it may take a few working together, but a couple of safe and natural items I use for upper GI distress (in my case its rarely reflux, but other forms of nausea, irritation, sour stomach, bloating etc) are...

Axia3 Prodigestive Antacid - If you're looking for a sodium bicarbonate / calcium carbonate style antacid but are worried about suppressing digestion, this is a good solution. It also includes a number of enzymes to benefit digestion, while also being a more natural approach than many bigger name antacid/heartburn/reflux products of its type.

GI-Relief (formerly GI-Encap) by Thorne - An herbal formula combination I've found to be quite useful. It contains DGL (Licorice, without the component that can increase your blood pressure or heart rate), marshmallow extract, slippery elm, and aloe vera, all of which have beneficial effects in the GI tract and may help with your reflux issue.

There are other natural supplements that may be helpful as well, but I've had good experiences with these two. Hope it helps!
