I am seeking the name of a good pediatric Lyme specialist on Long Island or in NYC. My son was just disgnosed and I want to make sure we are persuing the right course of treatment.

I don't know which doctors treat children. The best thing would be to contact support groups in your area and ask for information. I can send you a list, but you'd have to call each one!
There's a link for support groups on the upper left side of this page. They're listed by state and usually have an email address and phone number for a contact person. That might be a good place to start.
I would have told you, without any hesitation, to take your son to Dr. J in CT but I doubt that they are taking new patients at this point - not sure, though.
