Hello, I'm Marsha I live in SW Virginia.

While traveling on an extended camping trip in 2006 I was bitten by a tick in Mass.

I got very ill very quickly and was hospitalized in the Boston Area by July 4th.

I don't have a spleen, thanks to an earlier vacation fiasco so the Lyme disease progressed very quickly and I was VERY ill.

I had the bulls eye and about every other symptom. Fortunately because I was in the Boston area I was quickly diagnosed and treated aggressively with intravenous antibiotics for one month.

I have never really been well since then.

I sometimes wonder if the antibiotics are partially responsible for what appears to be auto-immune problems.

I have joint pain, worse when the barometric pressure is low, headaches, tiredness.

At times I am quite sick but when the pressure is high I feel quite well and am able to go out in the garden and work and feel pretty good.

I try to fit my life into my "good days". I have been going to my nurse practitioner that I have been seeing for 20 years.

She is sympathetic but all she can really do is refer me to rheumatologists or neurologists.

At one time she tried to get me referred to an infectious disease specialist, but apparently I did not meet the criteria. (How can that be...I had just previously been diagnosed with Lyme Disease)

Yesterday I had an appointment with the rheumatologists and all they can do for me is give me a prescription for Naprosyn and wants to redo the blood tests.

There are no Lyme Disease Doctors in this area. I am going to be making a trip to the Boston area in about a month.

Do any of you know of a LLMD in the New England Area that you love??? I don't mind making the trips to that area as long as I am talking to someone that understands Post Lyme Syndrome.

Thank you all for your time.
Wishes of wellness to you all!

There are a number of good LLMD's in Virginia.

your problem is not from the antibiotics, it's from gross UNDERTREATMENT.

Most Infectious Disease doctors will NOT help a Lyme patient. Welcome to our world of insanity!!

Your best bet is to be treated in VA, not Mass.

And as you found out, rheumatologists are also clueless!

I will send you a PM!
