After eight years of extreme illness and three mis-diagnoses later, it looks like I am going to need a doctor who can and will treat late stage lyme disease -

and I mean LATE STAGE - it has been 8 years since onset and I've never been treated. While my WB from Labcorp was negative according to both IDSA and ILADS (one positive band 23 on Igm and two positive, bands 41 & 30 on IgG),

I have been told that band 23 on the IgM is highly specific and tht the the IgG results are significant too. I've been advised to test with Igenex and find a good doctor. I have already been through a great deal -

treated for everything from Lupus to Fibromyalgia, taken innumerable steroid injectons to the knees so I could be at least semi-ambulatory. My neurological symptoms are getting far worse with time - Welcome to my Pity Parade!!!

Does anyone have any points of light to shine my way (and better yet, suggestions on someone credible to see in South Florida, ideally - but anywhere in Florida?).

I've been reading everything and everyone current on Lyme and am up-to-speed on the political issues - but I am determined to do what I can to help myself.

Many thanks to everyone else with Lyme who is trying to be so brave - I am new to this group and am very glad to have discovered you!
