After initial lyme treatment and two moderately "normal" years, I'm suffering a lyme relapse. My new insurance company has referred me to an infectious disease doctor 200 miles away in Ann Arbor MI.

Can someone tell me if any of the doctors at the University of Michigan medical hospital are listed as Lyme Literate? I have an appointment with a Dr. JS.

The lymediseaseassociation.org referral finder only listed the doctor from Grand Rapids that I had used before, who is no longer in my insurance network.

Many thanks in advance!

Scot

Sorry -

I should add, if anyone knows of Lyme Literate doctors in northern Indiana, that would be great. : ]

Thanks again.

Stay away from ID drs unless you KNOW for a fact that they treat Lyme disease LONG TERM.

Why not travel to the best in the Midwest??

There are NO LLMD's in IN, and none in IL.

Check your PM.

When I first got sick I went to U of M. They basically laughed at the fact that I could have

lyme disease. The doctor I went to would not even test me. I finally did see an Infectious

Disease doctor who gave me an elisa test, which came up neg. Since that test came up neg. there

was so no western blot done. From my own experince UofM is not a good place to go if you have lyme disease.

If you need more info pm me.

Most Lyme doctors do not take insurance because of the political climate in the medical field regarding Lyme.
