Can somebody point out any doctors in/around Austin, TX? If not Austin, San Antonio, Dallas?

Also what does LLND stand for?

Lastly, for those LLMD/LLNDs you do use, do most not take insurance?

If they don't take insurance, can they still write prescriptions that are covered by insurance?

Any thoughts on the ability to do phone call follow ups instead of having to drive out of town to meet the docs?

Thanks for any tips.

Sorry, I don't know of any in your area.

You might want to click on "Support Groups" in the upper left-hand corner of the Lymenet page, then "TX". Contact information will come up. Maybe they can help you.

You may obtain Lyme-literate doctor referrals at the following organizations:
www.ILADS.org
www.lymediseaseassociation.org

"LLND" is a Lyme-literate Naturopathic Doctor.

Most Lyme docs do not take insurance because of the politics surrounding this horrible disease and its complex treatment.

Yes, the Lyme doctors do write prescriptions which are covered by insurance even thought they themselves do not accept insurance.

Each doctor determines if he/she will do phone call follow-ups. I don't know if any or many do. I think the doctor must see you physically every couple of months or so in order for insurance to consider you a patient.

I think you have to fly out of state for one. Do it. It's worth it to find one who is ILADS trained (cutting edge).
