Looking for a doc (in any state) that treats Lyme and Parkinson's patients. Do you know someone who has both symptoms and has a doctor they like who understands both? I see Dr. H in NY and he is not very aware of the Parkinson's-Lyme connection. My husband was diagnosed with PD and just tested positive for Lyme. I appreciate any advice you can offer. Thank you.

I too am very interested in hearing about any Lyme doctors who treat Parkinson's, if anyone could pm me as well - not for me - for someone else.
Btw, I have heard of nupagen (sp?) injections for people presenting with Parkinson's symptoms.

Dr C in Missouri says his worst patients are those that come to him with MS and Parkinson dx and have been treated for such. I know he treats and I bet someone can give his numbers on success with Parkinson patients.
Dr C is a numbers man.

I would highly suspect babesia and/or bartonella in patients with Parkinson's symptoms. Hubby's tremors went away after 10 years with aggressive babesia treatment.
The first time his tremors left was with very high doses of the herb cryptolepis. Relapsed quickly (within a week) when that herb became unavailable in 2009 for 6 months or so.
But after 6 months IV Rocephin with 3 months IV zithromax following 2 1/2 years of aggressive bartonella treatment his tremors and seizure-like spells and dystonia were gone for over a year until he got 2 new tickbites in 2012.
During 2011 he tried pulsing babesia meds 3 times and each time tremors would return within 2 or 3 days of stopping babesia treatment.
Eventually after several months on the herb sida acuta and ivermectin along with babesia meds he was off all meds for 2 months in the spring of 2012 before the 2 new tickbites and the tremors and seizure-like spells and dystonia only restarted after the new tickbites.
Hubby did not have much luck with Dr C with his tremors as he required much more aggressive treatment than that doc prescribes.
Send me a pm if you would like the name of hubby's last LLMD in Chapel Hill, NC. While not a specialist in Parkinson's patients the doc will treat all suspected infections as agressively as the patient can tolerate.
Dr C and many other LLMD's told hubby that lyme, babesia or bartonella could cause his Parkinson's symptoms. Also you need to be thoroughly evaluated for mercury toxicity as that could also be a contributing factor.
