I suspect like most folks on here, I could write a book about what led me here. Short story.... I think there's a possibility I have Lyme and/or co-infections and could have had them for 20+ years. I am finally at the point where I need to be tested.

It's a bit complex in that we are a military family that lives overseas. I am home visiting family for two weeks and have a limited window to figure something out.

It seems that Igenix is the lab to use. I'm going to end up paying for the testing out of pocket and need to find someplace that will do it for me.

I know LLMD's are difficult to get appointments with for treatment but I just need the testing at this point. Can I go to a lab myself and request the tests? Do I have to order the Igenix tests ahead of time and bring them with me if I do it myself?

I am in the Willamette Valley, Oregon and I would greatly appreciate any help figuring out my next step.

BB

BB,

Here's to finding out what's going on to move foreward.

Many here can't read large blocks of solid text. Breaking up for easier reading - and that way more eyes can see and reply.

I will reply by PM by 10:15. I need some time to gather my thoughts. I am in Portland and have some numbers for you.

No LLMDs in Oregon but there are couple LL NDs in the valley - and they can order Igenex tests.

You need a doctor's order for any Igenex test. In Oregon, the LL NDs (LL naturopathic doctors) are the only choice and a few are excellent.

ANY ND can order this, though, they need not be LL if you are not going to be around for treatment you may be able to get in for the order quicker that way and pay less, too. I'm pretty sure all NDs have a basic knowledge and will not dismiss you (as MDs in this state are instructed to do).

If possible, though, as lyme diagnosis must consider physical / clinical "markers" (history, symptoms, how your body gets along) it would be best if you could get in for a full exam by a LL ND. They will know what to look for and that will be a huge help - and will consider a full range of possibilities.

A LL ND would have Igenex tests kits right there. Other NDs may not and would need to order them.

Check back in a bit for PMs.

PMs sent.

Be sure to also ask LL ND if they know of anyone you might see in your location overseas. They may have some connections / suggestions. They may also be able to help out, somehow, by distance.

And do call the support group leader closest to where you are in the valley. They may have some
other suggestions for you.

Good luck.

Don't know where you are overseas, but there is a great lyme doctor in Germany.

If you want the name and contact info, let me know.

Indeed, the German doctor would be fantastic. Some travel from US just to see him.

If you are comfortable posting where in the valley (which covers hundreds of miles) you are staying (if not Portland as has been my contact focus) others near where you are may have other names for you.

Keebler, this is a different German doctor. He follows the Burrascano protocol.

Thanks so much everyone. Right now, I am in Linn/Benton County but I live in Germany! I would appreciate any contacts in Germany for when I return.

I've actually found a LL ND here in the area and I'm hoping she tests through Igenex. If not, is there any value to the "standard" lyme tests? I've heard that they aren't reliable so should I work towards finding a Dr. to sign off on the Igenex test?

So you are in or around Corvallis.

Pretty sure the LL ND you found there will use Igenex. I think there are 2 LL NDs near you (though one may be farther away?), both of those who come to mind are LL.

Call their office and ask the receptionist what labs they would use and if they have the test kits right there. Always best to get detail straight from there office about this.

You could also ask if the ND is a member of ILADS and how long they've been assessing and treating lyme.

Some Bionic 880 (BioPhoton) discussion thread links to come (if I can find where I put that).

Maybe others will post more detail, too, or send you a PM.

You MIGHT get lucky and a standard test would show the Lyme.

BB,

Sorry. Usually, I have the PM function off as energy is so limited to field unexpected questions.

I don't think I have anythihng to add that I've not sent but I did turn my PM function back on fro over a week and did not hear back - so gotta turn it back off, now. Just have to limit energy output.

You are likely leaving in a day or two so hope all is going well for you. Take care. Good luck.
