I have an llmd. I'm treating lyme,Babesia with both oral and iv abx.

I had to get a lawyer to help me with an Aetna disability denial.the lawyer wants me to see dr.k in conn to "help with my case"

Both my llmd and pcp support my disability.

I don't know how I feel about this. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Part of CT's law.

An insurer can deny coverage for Lyme treatment after two months unless there is a 2nd confirming opinion from a neurologist (Dr. K), rheumatologist or IDSA MD.

So it helps to have a confirming opinion from a MD with one of the 3 qualifications.

We took our daughter to K and he confirmed for our daughter but we still had a battle on obtaining reimbursement for the meds as she was always serological negative (especially for the mepron @ $900+ / M).

Good luck.
