Our little boy just turned three. Tick bite behind ear that became red, swollen, and fever. Took him to MD, sent to ER. Cellulitis diagnosed. Rocephin injections and Augmentin. Day after Augmentin ended, fever started again. His leg hurts.
Back to ER. Waiting for tick borne illness lab results. 104.3 temperature and rash now. Started Doxycycline.
Family Dr., pediatrician, and ER can't figure it out. We are sure he has RMSF and need a doctor who can help us asap. Thank you.

Your dear little boy needs to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
They are far and few between, unfortunately! You need to go where they are!
