Hi. I have Lyme for the third time (hey that rhymes) and I need to find a doctor who knows how to diagnose and treat properly. I am also close to the Rhode Island area as well. Any suggestions are welcome...tired of being looked at like I am crazy! Thanks for your help! Karen D.

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for MA.

You need to be treated and evaluated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease and its complex treatment!

When calling for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner by doing this.

Most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease.

Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":

Check the online state Lyme groups at:

Maybe they can help.

The top LLMD, Dr. H, has written a new book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.

Also read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check your local library or buy it used on Amazon.
