Hello

I am looking for a doctor that would serve the W. Tennessee area.
I had a lyme test and failed it, but I did have a rash. The nurse gave me a couple of weeks worth of antibiotics to take.
That was a couple of years ago. I am having some strange things going on and I have been doing some reading online.
I think that I may have a lyme problem and need to find a doctor to test me.
I appreciate any help you can give me.

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for VA, MO & NC.

You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!

The bull's eye rash is definitive for Lyme.

No LLMDs in TN, GA, AL or SC - they are far and few between, unfortunately! You need to go where they are.

Most LLMDs do not take insurance due to the politics surrounding this disease. Read poster TF's explanation about this:

"Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance"
http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi/topic/2/15615?#000005

When you call for an appointment, ask if there are any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner by doing this.

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/tennesseelyme

Maybe they can help you.

Some more resources for you (including Support Groups):

The top LLMD, Dr. H, has written a new book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.

Also read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check your local library or buy it used on Amazon.

View "Under Our Skin" for free on www.hulu.com

Btw - please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme. Thanks.

I also have the dvd of "Under our Skin".

I will be watching for the information on the doctors.

We need a good doctor in Tennessee. There are several people ( I don't know their location) in Tennessee that has Lyme.
