He got me well 9+ years ago... Almost 10 yrs now! He's awesome and you will love him. [Smile]

He does treat conservatively, however. If you want aggressive, so elsewhere.

Aggressive does not sound very good.
What is the advantage of treating aggressively and why would anyone want to be treated aggressively?

With this disease, there is no substitute for an educated patient.

To get your education on this disease, read and STUDY the Burrascano Lyme Treatment Guidelines found here:

http://www.ilads.org/lyme/B_guidelines_12_17_08.pdf

The Burrascano lyme treatment protocol is a high-dose antibiotic protocol, with combinations of antibiotics used simultaneously.

This is generally what is meant by aggressive treatment.

Other doctors may use low doses of antibiotics, use only one antibiotic at a time or most of the time, or only use herbs.

You see, lyme doctors are free to treat the patient with any protocol they desire. There is no set ABC treatment like there is for strep throat, sinus infection, other common diseases.

So, it pays for you to find out how a lyme doctor treats (his protocol) and determine whether or not that is how you want to be treated.

Lyme doctors will not change their method of treatment for the patient. So, the patient has to inquire about the various doctors and go to one who treats the way they want to be treated for lyme.

I tried a couple doctors who did NOT follow the Burrascano protocol. They couldn't get me well.

Then, I went and heard Burrascano speak at a few lyme meetings. It became obvious to me that Dr. Burrascano knew a whole lot more than my current lyme doctor.

I got to submit a question about my case to Dr. Burrascano. He answered it, saying that my lyme treatment was inadequate and that is why I was getting new symptoms even though I was on antibiotics.

He said, "If the treatment is inadequate, the disease will continue to progress."

So, you can do what many do at first--not study anything and just go to a doctor, put yourself in their hands, and wait for the magic to happen.

In many cases, it never happens. So, then the person has to become educated and assess the lyme treatment they are being given. They have to figure out if the doc they are seeing knows enough to get them well.

Once I educated myself, I saw that I was receiving lousy lyme treatment. I wasted 2 years with this doctor, taking his antibiotics all the time.

Then I switched to a Burrascano style doctor and I was symptom-free in 8 months and finished with treatment in 13 months.

Then I sent 5 of my friends to Burrascano type doctors and they all got rid of their lyme disease.

I believe in the Burrascano protocol because I have seen it work over and over again.

When he was treating, Burrascano was considered the number one lyme doctor in the world. They came from countries all over the globe to see him.

Here are some points from the Burrascano Guidelines:

You must attack both the regular and cyst (or other) form of lyme simultaneously--requires 2 different antibiotics to do so.

You must test the patient for all co-infections and other physical ailments (thyroid, etc.) and treat everything the person has.

You must treat all co-infections (including mycoplasma, etc.) or the patient will not get well.

You must use Igenex for most of these tests--they are a tick-borne disease speciality lab in Calif.

You must use very high doses of antibiotics to kill the diseases (batericidal doses).

You must give the patient supplements, probiotics, herbs such as artimesinin if babesiosis is suspected, and require adherence to rules such as low carb diet, no alcohol, no smoking, rest, and exercise as the patient is able to do it.

You must treat at least 2 months after all symptoms have disappeared (if sick at least 1 year).

These are just a few of the important points you will see in the Guidelines.

So, I suggest you read the Guidelines and understand why Burrascano says that high doses of antibiotics are required and why combinations of antibiotics must be used, etc.

Then, with this knowledge, decide who you want to be your lyme doctor.

This illness is so individual that what works for one may not work for another. So, be willing to learn, be willing to change doctors if necessary, and don't give up until you find a doctor who is able to get your to wellness.

I wish you the best.
