Hi- Looking for a lyme literate OBGYN to be my doc once I get pregnant. I am in Westchester, NY and would prefer to stay in this county. But will take any suggestions.
Thanks.

Hi! Welcome to Lymenet!

Are you under the care of a Lyme-literate doctor now?

Also, the top Lyme pediatrician, Dr. J., has put together a protocol for pregnant women with Lyme which can be followed with one's own doctor. PM me if you want his contact information.

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/newyorklyme

Maybe they can help.

Some more resources for you (including Support Groups info):
www.lyme-aware.org/new-york.html
www.empirestatelymediseaseassociation.org

The top LLMD, Dr. Richard Horowitz, has written a new book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.

Also read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check your local library or buy it used on Amazon.

Thanks! I should have stated in my first message.. I have been under the care of a great NY LLMD for three years. I am well versed in the lyme world... but new to the pregnancy world (not preg yet). I wanted to find an OBGYN who would be okay with my lyme treatment during and after preg. Do you know anyone? I will check out Dr J's guidelines.
Thanks!!

You're very welcome - glad to help.

No, I don't know of any LL OB/GYNs. Contact the NY Lyme Support Groups. They might.
