I was diagnosed in 2010 and have been treated by three different specialists since then. I had been relatively stable and functional for a while, but I've had a major relapse the past several weeks. My main symptoms are persistent, severe fatigue and muscle aches (along with brain fog). I'm seeking a new doctor. The last one I saw (in the Tampa area) had retired. I live in Lakeland. Thanks.

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for FL.
You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
They are far and few between, unfortunately. You need to go where they are.
Also, most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":
Btw -please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme. Thanks.

Hey 63...
Try this Florida Doctor Referral page if you need to, and I hope you have success.
Howdy neighbor, I have a similiar history and fustration with no seemingly Lyme literate doc since Tampa doc (I too saw retired). Please share info for Tampa Bay area. Thanks!

greenjean - you should write a new post instead of adding on to an existing one. That way, more people will see it and respond because most don't re-read old posts.
