I need a new general practitioner. I have a few drs for specific things and want one that I can just go to for typical human stuff, but understand lyme .

like someone that believes an EM rash means lyme and that if I want abx because I had a rash of another kid after worknig outside or on my kid or my dog found a tick , etc. and wont' dimiss me as crazy lyme lady.

i have no insurance so that doesn't matter, and I can't afford someone that charges hundreds per hour, but there just has to be someone out there!

could be internist, gp, whatever, as long as they are open. I fond one in the past but he is over an hour drive and it is getting hard to do that for many reasons. he is Dr L. M. and is great.

but want someone closer. I live in the Lehigh Valley area.

thanks

steve, that is the hospital that wont treat unless you have a positive elisa, and they are the ones that gave my niece steroids. but, thanks anyway for the suggestion.

hopingand praying- I will ask them again, but I don't think they have just regular drs names. I think they just know more of the 'real' lyme dr types. and I know that there is only one of them in my town. and I don't want to go to her.

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/PennsylvaniaLyme/info

Maybe they can help.

Some more resources for you (including Support Groups info):
www.lyme-aware.org/pennsylvania.html

http://www.lymenet.org/SupportGroups/UnitedStates/Pennsylvania/

Call the Lyme Disease United Coalition at (800) 311-7518. They are very knowledgeable and might know of someone.
