Please send me LLMD's in Maryland, DC Or Virginia. I have been unsuccessful contacting one through other resources. I appreciate your help and any details you can provide.

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for VA, MD & DC.

You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!

They are far and few between, unfortunately. You need to go where they are.

Also most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":

When calling for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner by doing this.

Check the online state Lyme groups at:

https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/MarylandLyme/info

Maybe they can help.

The top LLMD, Dr. H, has written a new book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.

Read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Get it at your local library or buy it used on Amazon.

There is also a wonderful Lyme support and advocacy organization in the DC area. I hope it's ok to post their contact info here:

www.natcaplyme.org

Contact them and ask for recommendations on doctors. That's how I found my LLMD!
