So sorry to hear you are having problems like this. Hoping you will be on the road to recovery soon. Hang in there! You are NOT alone.

You can go to www.FloridaLyme.org and check the Doctor Referral page (on menu to your left). There is one place VERY close to you listed there with a PA and chiropractor.

You will also find a Morgellons page once you get to the doctor referral site (again, menu to your left). It will take you to the best info on Morgellons we have, and give you an option to locate some treating doctors, however, they are few and far between.

I have a special interest in Morgellons so If you'd like to email me for assistance or more information- sorry I don't do the PM thing here- it is....

[email protected]

Be sure to say if you email that you read this on LymeNet and mention Morgellons. Got to jog my memory every now and then. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for FL.

You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!

A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.

Here is a link for them:

http://www.lymenet.org/BurrGuide200810.pdf

Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. You need to go where they are. There was one in Tampa, but he retired.

Also, most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":

When you call for an appointment, ask if there are any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner by doing this.

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/FloridaLyme/info

Maybe they can help you.

Some more resources for you (including Support Groups):

The top LLMD, Dr. H, has written a book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.

Also read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check your local library or buy it used on Amazon.
