Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for upstate NY.
You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.
Read the books written by the top LLMD, Dr. H titled, "Why Can't I Get Better?" and his new one, "How Can I Get Better?". They are an excellent source of information.
Also "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check your local library or buy it used on Amazon.
Welcome to LymeNet! We will help you here all we can.
I sent you the name of a good doctor not too far from you. With this disease, you have to expect to travel to get care from someone who specializes in lyme disease.
You want a doctor whose entire practice or a great portion of it is lyme patients. That is how doctors develop expertise on this horrendous disease.
The doc I am recommending to you had lyme disease herself.
Let us know how it goes.

Hey up there in NY...
Welcome to LymeNet.
To find a Lyme treating professional in any state please go to...
You will see a menu on the left that has "DOCTOR REFERRALS". That will take you to a site that has listings for your state and others.
There is also a "Help For You" Link on the menu. It has some cost reducing tips for tests, medications, insurance issues and other things.
Sure hope this helps. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
Hope you are feeling better soon!

Thank you all for the recommendations. I am still researching my options, but may go to the LLMD in PA that my sister sees, since he seems to be closer to me than many of the NY drs. Thanks again.
