Hi everyone.... I am expecting my test results from IgeneX within a few days and want to be prepared to seek out treatment should the test be positive. Can I please have the names of LLMD for Texas? Thank you!

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for TX.

You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!

A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.

Here is a link for them:

LLMDs are far and few between, unfortunately. You need to go where they are. At least half of all Lyme patients travel out-of-state for their care.

Also, most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":

Please read the following about LLMDs and Texas which was recently posted about TX:

"Texas is not a great place to find a good Lyme doctor. Texas threatens its Lyme doctors and gets them to move or stop practicing without notice.

Then, if they start up again a year or so later, they do it to them again. So, there really are few Lyme doctors."

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/TexasLyme/info

Maybe they can help.

Read the books written by the top LLMD, Dr. H, titled, "Why Can't I Get Better?" and his new one, "How Can I Get Better?". They are an excellent source of information.

Read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Get it at your local library or buy it used on Amazon.

Thank you "hopeandpraying" for your PM. [Smile] I'm hoping my test is negative of course, but if not, y'all are going to be seeing lots more of me around here. I'm "somewhat" informed on lyme since several people in my family have already dealt with/or are currently dealing with this horrible disease.

Stand by! Thanks again for the quick reply!
