Years ago, back in my late 20s, I was on here when I lived in Texas. Now I'm in my 40s and in Kentucky.

Lyme being what it is, the exact years and my login name are fuzzy.

I had 2 kids then and not much help from their father. This time I have a total of 8 kids (yours, mine, ours), and my husband is amazing.

I was treated for about 2 or 3 yrs with orals only as I had no insurance. We treated Lyme, bart, and babs.

I did great for several years!

I'm now 43 and my new husband and I got married almost 4 years ago and we promptly (!!) had 3 babies in 3 years!

3 pregnancies in as many years in my 40s... you can guess what happened.

For now it is mostly joint pain and some muscle cramps, a few minor other things, but I'm wanting and needing to get a jump on this before it gets worse.

I do have insurance through my husband for meds if that's an option. I know virtually no LLMDs take it, so am aware we'll have to use cash.

Cash won't be available until tax refund time, but I thought I'd start trying to get an idea of who, where, cost, etc.

Thankfully all 3 of the babies seem to be unaffected for now, though I do know it's not a guarantee for the future.

I am not as knowledgeable about Lyme doctors as some others but I know they will come along to help you out.

Welcome back although I am sorry you have to come back due to being ill.

Welcome back MommaSmurf

Wow, if someone asks you what have you accomplished the past decade, you have have quite a story. Good for you!

Kentucky has no LLMD’s that I’m aware. That doesn’t mean there aren’t any. I’ll give you links to request LLMD’s and see what these organizations come up with.

Global Lyme Alliance

International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS)
https://www.ilads.org/patient-care/provider-search/

LivLyme Foundation
https://livlymefoundation.org/resources/doctors/

You must research each LLMD referred to you. To do this, google for patient reviews or connect with your local Lyme disease support groups.

Kentucky Lyme Disease

(Look under ‘Resources’ for more LLMD’s referrals)

Kentucky/Indiana

Sending you pm for IN and OH.
Good luck to you and your family.

Welcome back to Lymenet! PM sent for IN & OH.

The doctor is the key to getting you well, but as you know, LLMDs do not take insurance. I don't know of any LLMDs in KY, unfortunately.

Here are some links for you to look into re: Financial Assistance:
