Got my PIC line in on Monday and started my Rocephin last night.

Dr took over 11/2 hours with an X-Ray machine to get the PIC in. Last time a nurse did it and it took only 10 min on a hospital bed.

That's OK. While talking to the Dr he told me he got a tick bull's-eye this past summer. Had a test done which came back neg.

Gave him the rundown on lyme, can see it on his face that he got a little worried!

When he was finished, he said that I know more about lyme than his colleagues. He did not know that even with a neg test you can still have lyme, you should have seen is face.

Gave him all the lyme web sites that I could remember and my phone number.

Maybe, the doctor is in stage 1, and the lyme is affecting his performance. Maybe that's why he took over an hour to put my PIC line in. Luckily, he is only in radiology and not surgery. Hopefully another converted Duck.

From all his poking around, my arm was a total mess. Could not sleep at all Mon night.

ABXs came in yesterday; nurses redid my dressing and got me going on the Rocephin.

Woke up this morning, felt like some of my symptoms are a little bit more acute. Have to wait and see if it's herxing or not.

Alex

Good for you and your lyme educating, even under extreme circumstances. Glad you finally had that PICC installed. Don't know if I would have lasted an hour and a half, thru poking and prodding.

My central line was done under gen. anesthesia, so I couldn't get up and run away. Veins no good for PICC.
