There is a multi-million dollar operation in Pennsylvania called Quackwatch, run by Stephen Barrett, which is funded by the Insurance, Big Pharma and other industries. Ed McSweegan writes the Lyme pages for Quackwatch which are full of horrendous disinformation. It's possible that "Michelle P from Pennsylvania" is involved with that crazy crew.

I think perhaps she likes to ask several different groups, and then compare the answers, before she decides what to do.
I also advised her to do background reading about Kathleen Dickson, Plum Island, and other info, which she would need as a journalist.

That's not accurate, as she originally posted on a different health group, asking for information about a tick that she removed.
She later requested info about testing a tick that she removed from her daughter.
I gave her info both times.
I doubt very much that she is involved with the Steere camp, as she apparently is not aware of who he is.
She also did not know who Kathleen Dickson is.
The folks at sci.med gave her info similar to what she received at LymeNet.
