Thing is, I tested negative for Lyme Disease this time, but I was expecting that since I was just on doxycycline for bronchitis. I also tested positive for Babesiosis, which I had tested positive for back in April and was given only half the treatment.
So, the doctor was just going to refer me to a specialist, and let them deal with me. I was so upset. That's what several other doctors have said they were going to do, only to be denied an appointment with the specialists because they didn't think I actually have Lyme Disease because of my normal sed rate, or because they don't accept my insurance. I started crying in the office. I was frustrated, not knowing what to do next, dreading the next time I'm laid up in bed in pain, and contemplating suicide. Then, I got an idea, and called the nurse in who has Lyme Disease. She came in, and spoke on my behalf, told the doctor that people with Lyme Disease can test negative. I've tested positive before. So, the doctor agreed to prescribe medication. He's still going to look for a LLMD who accepts my insurance and will see me. But, he's going to treat me in the meantime!

What did he prescribe? ...dose per day?

You could print a copy for him. It has great info on Lyme & Co-Infections.
Like HEATHERKISS said - He may be a LLMD in the making.
Be sure to take enough acidophilus each day to replenish the good bacteria the abx kills. Better to prevent a systemic yeast infection! You don't need anything else to have to deal with.

He prescribed 100 mg doxycycline twice a day. I didn't realize how low the dose was until after I got home and took a pill. I'm going to increase the dosage myself, and call him on Monday to let him know the dose should be at least 300 mg a day.
I'm eating a lot of yogurt, and I've been decreasing carbs.

Good for you! You were brilliant to ask the nurse to come in! She deserves thanks from all of us.
Now the doc might be more responsive to more info. You can give your doctor the guidelines from the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society. If you send me a private message, I will be glad to e-mail the summary and the guidelines to you.
Be careful with doxycycline, it can be hard on the stomach. You should not take it with milk, as that interferes with its effectiveness.
You should take acidophilus, but not within 2 hours of the doxy doses.
I think I am forgetting something else about doxy, but I am sure someone else here will remember if there is another helpful clue.
