My teen, "as we speak" is resting amongst

laptop
1 DVD
pens
bible
sketchbook
9th grade literature text
3-ring notebook
electric heating pad (on)
heated in microwave bag

roll of paper towels
a few alcohol wipes

2 dirty blouses
3 dirty socks
candy wrappers
the kitty, who is nestled among all the treasures

How about you?

control to adjustable bed
2 cats
leg brace (on my leg)... ;-)
"Thumper" massager
TV Remote Control

Now, the side by my bed looks like a disaster area:

- heating pad
- Yet, another massager (in case the other one overheats)
- Ma Roller (helps with spinal alignment when you roll on it)
- Books

Right now my bed actually isn't that messy because I've been trying to keep it clean and changed the sheets a few days ago. Right now, though, I have:

* lots of pillows
* two stuffed animals (my long-time teddy bear and more recent reindeer)
* a bag of Primaxin waiting to be used (when the one I'm currently infusing is done)
* a plastic box with some flushes, endcaps, and alcohol wipes in it
* a liter bag of saline (to be hooked up overnight after the Primaxin is done)
* a portable pump (to be used with the saline)
* the TV remote
* my laptop computer (obviously) and mouse
* a notepad and paper with a partial shopping list on it

That's what's in my bed. I have a lot of stuff on my two bed-side tables, too (one on each side) like drinks, books, my mp3 player, my cell phone, my clock radio, etc. Lately I've been a little better about getting out of bed to change DVDs in the real DVD player instead of watching them all on my computer so my bed is a little neater than it was a few weeks ago.

Peace and healing,
Annie

My husband! Though hardly at the same time as I get to bed at a ridiculous hour, and he gets up at 2:40 a.m.!

Sometimes, when I'm very sad or scared, I have my soft doll, Gertrude, with me.

Since "next to the bed" was mentioned, I have pills (shocker, eh? [Smile] ) , photo of hubby, sound machine, phone, and lamp. Oh, I also have a remote for the bed. (It's a Nautilus air bed.)

I keep a garbage can, tissues, and water at hand, also. And, when I can read in bed, reading materials. I do so love reading in bed. It helps me get to sleep, but I can't do this when hubby is in bed.

well, I have several ice packs that have kept me from shooting myself in the head from yet another week of a headache from hell. 6 pillows to try and get comfortable for a few minutes. Heating pad that my cat really loves so we have to share. Of course my cat when she feels the need to grace me with her presence. Almost forgot my sunglasses so I can see when I have to get up.

My son has his dog right by his side! Since he has become ill she does not leave him. They say animals can sense things like that! [Big Grin]

Right before I go to bed I lay there and read and my little flying squirrel is running under the covers and cuddles with my hand. He has to move my fingers so he can curl up in them and roll up into a ball.

If he thinks I'm going to catch him to put him in his cage, he bites me. He's very temperamental. He is absolutely the neatest pet.

I also have a teddy bear, a heating pad, my sound machine and my Xyrem when its time to go to sleep.

I have books in my bed. I am just finishing an outstanding biography of stalin, "court of the red tsar", which gets my highest recommendation, also several books on birds, and a giant pile of scientific articles on borreliosis and related issues.

Most nights, Riley my 24 lb. yellow tabby is there with me.

My husband, on the other hand, has a 65 lb. Standard Poodle with him in his bed.

We've had several years of sleeping this way and he and I both do better sleeping and rest with our pets than we do with sleeping in the same bed together. Sleeping in two bedrooms is better for us cause of my sleep problems, restless, snoring, etc.
